What changed
CRUX changes
CRUX is an arena shooter wave fighting roguelike. As such, it needs more arenas, more enemies, and more player abilities.
While, we're still in closed testing, we're happy to announce that that's exactly what we're bringing.
Level 2: Catacombs
We've been testing Level 1: Antechamber for a while now, and we're pretty excited to continue our adventure into the Catacombs. Catacombs is a much flatter and more cramped space, forcing the player to use its pillars of bones and skulls for cover to the fullest. While the Catacombs is meant to be the second level of Crux, for testing purposes in this patch it will be the first level. From the next patch it will take its place after the Antechamber.
New Enemies
Skeleton Knight
The Skeleton Knight is a fodder enemy that you'll see plenty of. While it has mostly a simple move set of trying to kill you with its sword, it can also go into a defensive stance whereby it reflects attacks with its shield.
Exploder
The Exploder is an infected corpse, devoid of mind, only craving to explode, so keep your distance!
Undead Warrior
The washed up bodies of ancient Varangian warriors, reanimated through the arcane, thirsting for blood. Keep away from their axes, but eliminate them quickly, lest they go into their berserk rage.
Bone Golem
Rock Golems obsessed with bones and dark magic. The bones they wear grant them extra protection, and the ethereal bone magic they cast grants them destruction
Mummy
Laid to rest eons ago, angry at their forced reanimation, mummies will try to pull you into the other side with them
Undead Mage
Varangian shamans who accompanied their Warrior brethren. Calm, powerful and thirsty for souls.
The Reaper
The final guardian of the Catacombs, wielding the power of its ethereal scythe and all the souls it has collected over eons. Defeat them to gain access to the next arena (once it has been developed, of course).
