8.1.0.5 Update

I hit a huge delay when making the 8.1.X.Y set of updates, so I wanted to post a bit of information as to what's been happening. I'm currently working on the third rift inside the Colosseum based on the Nexus Waterway.

changedI hit a huge delay when making the 8.1.X.Y set of updates, so I wanted to post a bit of information as to what's been happening. I'm currently working on the third rift inside the Colosseum based on the Nexus Waterway. In doing so, I restructured the Colosseum Vendor's shops to be separate terminals in the same building instead for easier navigation. While looking at what was available, I decided it was time to make some minor changes: all Rift 1 & 2 gear is now "General", and can be equipped by any class with "Equip General Armor" and "Equip General Weapon". This means, for this case specifically, there may be swords usable by Alex, daggers usable by Riley, axes usable by Ruby, etc.
addedThe four basic character exclusive skills now have built in Barrier Penetration, meaning 20% of their damage will affect Hit Points and the remaining 80% will be applied to the remaining barrier. There is a chance that due to the way the game handles certain things like armor & weapons that this will only apply to new save files or to characters who have yet to learn these skills.
changedBefore we get to the patch notes, a quick overview of my medium-term goals: - To keep the endgame sequence challenging without being just an over inflated HP pool (I really did take that feedback to heart and I'm still thinking about it) - To release The Reservoir as an additional f2p event. (COMING SOON!) - To make use of the reserved Steam DLC slots previously obtained for CoA (of which there are 4) - To add more low to high value discoverable sidequests and locations throughout the world.
changed8.1.0.5 - "Generalization" - Removed access restrictions to The Reservoir's terminal, but the rift itself is still sealed. - Added detail for new base 375 set "Azure" exclusive to The Reservoir colosseum event. Azure items reduce chance to be Soaked, incoming water damage, and increase Hit, Eva, Crit, Crit Eva, Mag Eva, Mag Reflect, HP/MP/TP Regen, Guard Effect, TP Charge Rate, and EXP Gained while reducing MP Cost. Stat spread: 0%/20%/0%/18%/12%/22%/15%/13%. Ultimately less defense than Emberguard sets, but increases your HP/MP pool and raises Ex/Sp Parameters. This is the first set to enter the game with the new Prices on their release. Every armor in the set has 3 Upgrade Slots & the same reagent cost and disassemble pool, but with varying Gold prices. - Commando, Riley's unique class, can now equip Flails and by default has the Dual Wield flag. - New tooltip term "Off-Hand" to identify weapons which usually have the Dual Wield flag but do not. These weapons can be weilded alone as one handers or as the 2nd weapon where the first has Dual Wield instead. Two of these weapons may not be equipped at the same time because of this unless the character or class has the Dual Wield flag, allowing them to dual wield any weapon type. - Unique character classes can now equip the "General Weapon" category. - Sterling, Dark, Scarlet, Emberguard, and Elite Emberguard weapons in the Colosseum vendor terminal are now classified as General Weapons. - Sterling, Dark, Scarlet, Emberguard, and Elite Emberguard armor in the Colosseum vendor terminal are now classified as General Armor. - Rift An'ura themed daggers are now properly labeled as "Off-Hand". - Blitz, Uppercut, Fury Strikes, & Arcane Missile now have - Scarlet Cloth Armor now gives 5% to MAT. - Scarlet Light Armor now gives 5% to ATK. - Scarlet Medium Armor now gives 5% to MDF. - Scarlet Heavy Armor now gives 5% to DEF. - Emberguard upgrades the bonus to 25% for the slot. - Emberguard Ring now gives +2% to all stats. - Elite Emberguard Robe now gives 50% to MAT and 10% to MDF. - Elite Emberguard Cloak now gives 10% to all stats. - Sterling and Dark sets now give bonuses at 10% and 25% respectively matching the previous armor types listed above.

Last year, we talked about the end of development. Then I realized, we're coming up next year on 10 years since I released the game. I figure with some extra time put in, we can finish it out right.
