Cropia changes
Hi everyone! 👋
Thank you very much for all the feedback, reports, and suggestions you continue to share with us. We have been reviewing how players manage their farms and employees, and several changes in this update were developed based on the pain points we collected.
This update introduces the first Farm Expansion, more character customization options at the Barber, improved employee harvesting behavior, and several refinements to employee movement and planting tasks.
Here is what is new in this update:
1. Farm Expansion
Your farm can now grow beyond its original boundaries with the introduction of North Field 1.
After reaching Reputation Level 8, you can interact with the expansion sign near the farm fence and purchase North Field 1 for 100,000.
Once the expansion is purchased:
The new area will become accessible as part of your farm.
Employees will be able to travel to and work within the new field.
Grass and other naturally regrowing resources can appear in the new area during the following regrowth cycle.
The borders used by employee tasks will also include any farm expansion you have purchased. This means employees can continue planting, harvesting, gathering seeds, and performing their other assigned tasks across both the original farm and your expanded land.
You may also notice North Field 2 beyond the new area. This field is currently included as a preview of another possible farm expansion. Hovering over its expansion point will display information about the area, but it cannot be purchased in this update.
2. Expanded Character Customization at the Barber
More clothing options are now available through the Barber’s makeover service.
This update adds 12 new outfits, along with additional clothing color options. You can also customize the colors of your top and pants separately, giving you more freedom when creating your preferred appearance.
Visit the Barber whenever you would like to explore the new outfits and update your character’s look.
3. Employee Harvesting Update
Employees assigned to harvesting can now collect harvestable products found within your farm environment.
This includes products produced by both crops and animals that have not yet picked up by employee. Employees will only collect products located within your owned farm areas, including the original farm and any expansions you have purchased.
Items located outside those boundaries will not be collected, keeping employee activity focused on the areas that belong to your farm.
Additional Improvements
1. Clearer Crop and Livestock Condition Information
Additional information is now displayed when checking crops and livestock, helping you better understand conditions that may be affecting their growth or production.
Depending on their current condition, you may now see information such as:
Dry Soil when a crop has not been watered.
Hungry when an animal needs more feed.
Sick when an animal is currently affected by sickness.
This information is available when hovering over or interacting with the crop or animal, making it easier to identify what needs your attention.
Improvements
1. Employee Work Area and Planting Fixes
Several employee behaviors have been updated to make their movement and planting tasks more reliable.
a. Seed Search Limited to Farm Areas
Employees will now only search for and collect seeds located within your owned farm areas.
They will no longer gather seeds placed outside the original farm or any expansion areas you have purchased.
b. Nearest Planting Area Priority
Employees will now prioritize the nearest eligible planter board that still has available planting tiles.
Previously, employees could choose planting areas randomly, even when another valid area was much closer.
c. Shorter Employee Strolling Distance
Idle employees will now stroll within a shorter distance around their current position instead of wandering across large sections of the farm.
Their strolling behavior will also remain within valid owned farm areas, reducing unnecessary movement outside their assigned working space.
d. Planter Board Changes During a Task
Employee behavior has been updated for situations where a planter board is changed while an employee is already carrying out its instruction.
Before planting, the employee will now check that:
The planter board still exists.
Its planting instruction is still active.
The selected seed has not changed.
The target planting tile is still within the sign’s valid area.
If the instruction is no longer valid, the employee will cancel or update the task instead of planting the wrong seed.
Thank you again for your continued support, reports, and feedback. We are still reading and collecting everything you share through the Steam Discussions, and we will continue prioritizing improvements based on their feasibility and impact on the overall experience.
Some suggestions may require more planning, development, and testing before they can be included. If you do not see a particular suggestion in this update, it does not necessarily mean it has been overlooked.
If you encounter any issues or unexpected behavior, please let us know through the Steam Discussions so we can investigate further.
We will keep listening, improving, and growing together with you. Happy playing! 🌱💛
