Cosmic Raze changes
I tend to release updates for my games fairly quickly, but this isn't typical even for me. Normally I'd let this patch marinate in the beta branch for a couple days, because there's some significant balance changes, but I had to release it now because of a game-breaking bug that allowed the weapon limit to be exceeded, and I was too deep in this next update to go back to an older version.
Patch 0.61.2
- BalanceThis update adjusts the relative power of weapons by shifting more power into the higher tier weapons, both by making them less expensive to build, and by giving them more sustain and damage. Tier 1 weapons, also subject to the reduced energy costs, are now more fragile.
Weapons across all tiers and levels have had their energy costs reduced
Weapon: Bullet Buzz: Level 1 health now 25, and level 2 now 50. Cooldown up to 1.85 seconds (from 1.5), and 1.65 seconds at level 2.
Weapon: Ion Sight: Level 1 health now 25, level 2 unchanged
Weapon: Starwhal: Level 1 health now 40, level 2 unchanged
Weapon: Sunsplitter: Level 1 can now target up to 4 enemies and level 2 can target up to 5. +20 health at level 1 and 2.
- WeaponEvery Fling: +15 health at level 1 and 2, and cooldown at level 1 reduced from 3 seconds to 2.5 seconds. Level 2 cooldown is now 2.25 seconds.
Weapon: Upcharge: +25 health at level 1 and 2. +15 damage at level 1. +15 damage at level 2.
- WeaponFarlight: +20 health, +3 damage per beam. Cooldown reduced from 7 seconds to 5. Fires 3 times per second while the drone is active up from 2. Now creates a drone immediately upon being built.
Weapon: Thunder Jumper: +20 health at level 1 and 2, +5 damage at level 1, bombs now travel slightly faster.
Augment: Corner Cutter: Now reduces energy cost and build cooldowns by 25% down from 30%. Weapons now spawn with 25% of their normal health.
- EnemiesThe new enemies have all had their health, speed, and attack damage tweaked in small ways
Bugs
Fixed a bug that was causing the weapon limit counter to stop counting after 13, allowing for too many weapons to be built at lower tech tiers
- Mouse OnlyFixed a bug that was preventing the difficulty tooltip from updating
