Cosmic Raze 1.0 – We Have Liftoff!
Well, here we are. Cosmic Raze has reached 1.0! Thanks for all of the feedback along the way, and to my Patreon supporters for lending an extra helping hand.
I’m happy with how this little experiment turned out, and hope you’ve enjoyed it too. I’ll be keeping an eye on any lingering bugs, but otherwise I consider this project complete.

Features
14 new augments to unlock and equip • 2 new active powers to unlock and equip • 6 new, harder difficulties • Cosmic Daze: A brand new easy mode that gives you some serious advantages • 20 new achievements • The Data Codex: Track your unlocks, equipped weapons, and achievement progress
Balance Notes: A lot of changes here focus on energy gain. In older versions of the game, it cost a lot more to build weapons, so energy gain was higher.
(Meta) Max experience needed for unlocks has been reduced to 350 from 450. Experience needed for your first several unlocks has also been reduced. • (Meta) On higher difficulties, long range strikes against your weapons will no longer happen in the first 30 seconds of a wave. • (Gamepad) When playing with a gamepad, you now have an extra 1.5 seconds to collect gold bars • (Power) Column Bomb has an 11 second cooldown, down from 12 • (Power Backup Battery: Grants +60 energy, down from 100 • (Augment) Scrap Zap now gives +20 energy when you scrap a weapon, up from 10 • (Augment) Hot Potato now states that it triggers when mines detonate, not bombs. Increased the chance to trigger by 5%. • (Breakthrough)
Efficiency
+2/3/4% energy gain in battle, down from 3/4/5% • (Breakthrough Jump Start: +5/8/12 max and starting energy, down from +10/15/20 • (Synergy)
Defense
Mines will now detonate after 5 seconds, or when enemies are close enough. Up from 3 seconds. • (Weapon)
Far Light
Removed the energy gain. This was a relic from when it was a Harvester type weapon. • (Weapon)
Sun Power
Gives 3/5 energy, down from 5/8
Quality of Life • Added a small victory animation when you beat the game • All drones now have basic idle animations • (Power) Last Resort now states correctly that it deals 50 damage to 5 targets per weapon destroyed. Previously said 3.
Bugs • Removed a debug feature that caused f2 to reset the game and f4 to close it • Upgraded weapons should now always have an upgrade arrow when placed on the battlefield • Fixed an issue that prevented certain difficulty modifiers from being applied when loading a game • Fixed an issue where the defense synergy mines were not triggering the Hot Potato augment • Fixed an issue where certain upgrades were being unlocked before they should be • Fixed an issue with certain non-standard weapons reducing your total weapon count when destroyed even though they don't count toward your total weapon count when created • If you activate your power at the end of a round without using it, it will properly deactivate before the next round. • (Augment) Support Strike was not always counting every lock-on weapon • (Augment) Support Strike was sometimes counting weapons not in reserve • (Augment) Hot Potato now correctly triggers with all mines from weapons, augments, powers, and synergies • (Weapon) Sunsplitter will not longer be destroyed too soon if damaged when no valid enemies are nearby • (Mouse) Fixed an issue where moving the mouse too quickly over multiple selections could cause text to become misaligned • (Mouse) Fixed an issue in options menu when attempting to change resolutions • (Mouse) Fixed an issue where clicking in the options menu when not over a choice would highlight and lock the selection until the player right clicked to cancel • (Mouse) When moving between certain sections of the game, you should no longer need to click to make the custom mouse cursor reappear • (Gamepad) You can now end the selected option in the options menu by confirming or canceling
