Major Update 0.4.0 has officially landed. This update brings one of our biggest gameplay foundations so far: the first major version of the Skill Tree and character progression system.
Alongside the Skill Tree, this update also includes new magic abilities, new and improved weapon special & fury attacks, outfit and gear updates, combat animation improvements, UI quality-of-life changes, performance optimizations and a large wave of fixes across the game.
Please remember that some of the systems introduced in this update are part of our ongoing Early Access improvement efforts. We will keep expanding, balancing and polishing them with your feedback in future updates.

Skill Tree & Character Progression
Major Update 0.4.0 introduces the first major version of our Skill Tree system.
Both the main character and each companion now have their own skills and attributes. You can develop your companions even when they are not currently in your active party, allowing you to prepare different characters and builds for future encounters.
This is an important foundation for future build variety, combat progression, long-term character development and replayability in Concubine.
Skill Tree Features
• Develop the main character through the new Skill Tree • Develop each companion individually through their own Skill Tree • Invest points into Weapon Skills, Combat Skills and Magic Skills • Unlock new abilities through skill progression • Assign attributes to improve character stats • Save and continue your progression between play sessions • Build different progression paths for different characters
Attributes & Character Stats
Attributes can be assigned through the Skill Tree UI for both the player and companions.
The attribute section also considers equipped gear, giving a clearer view of important character values such as:
• Health • Stamina • Mana • Damage • Armor
Skill Information & Upgrade Details
Skills in the tree can be hovered to display detailed information about what they do, how they affect gameplay and which abilities they may unlock.
The Skill Tree also shows current effects, next level effects and max level information more clearly, making it easier to plan your character progression before spending points.
Resetting Skills & Attributes
Both skills and attributes can be reset from the Skill Tree.
Resetting has a gold cost. The cost starts small, but increases with each reset up to a maximum value. This allows players to experiment with builds while still keeping character progression meaningful.
The Skill Tree is a major new system for Concubine, and this is only the beginning. We will continue improving balance and skill effects throughout Early Access.
New Magic Abilities
Major Update 0.4.0 introduces three new magic abilities connected to the progression system:
• Doomshroud • Venom Storm • Goddess Grace
These spells are part of our ongoing work to make magic a more important and exciting part of combat. Each one has its own combat presentation and will continue to be balanced and polished with future updates.
Bosses are immune to Venom Storm’s stun effect to prevent major encounters from being interrupted too easily.
To help maintain combat balance alongside the addition of new magic healing options, the duration of Heal Wounds potions has been reduced from 60 seconds to 30 seconds.
New Weapon Abilities & Fury Updates
This update also expands weapon-based abilities and improves several Fury attacks.
The Dagger, Great Spear, Great Mace and Great Axe now have additional weapon abilities, giving these weapon types more variety and stronger progression through the Skill Tree.
