Combat Troops VR changes
I wanted to let you all know that the next update will be released with a slight delay. Originally, I planned to have it ready by mid-September, but I’ve pushed the release to the end of the month. As I got deeper into development, I found more ways to improve the game (as the saying goes – the appetite grows with eating), and I want to deliver the best experience possible.
Here’s what I’ve been working on and what you can expect in the upcoming update:
🔧 Changes & Improvements: Weapon Weights: All weapons and items will now have weight, affecting movement and adding a more realistic feel to handling. This will also help reduce unnecessary weapon sway and improve aiming at long distances. You’ll be able to scale or disable this feature in the options menu if you prefer.
Reduced Hand Movements for Team Commands: I’ve minimized the hand movements required for issuing squad commands. (Voice commands are something I plan to introduce later down the line!)
Improved Weapon Chambering: You’ll now be able to hold the chambering action and reload without it automatically releasing once the reload is complete, giving you more control.
Reloading Enhancements: I’m adding haptic feedback for a more immersive reloading experience, and I’m also working on more realistic magazine interaction when inserting it into the weapon.
Other Small Changes: Separating the buttons for restarting the game and returning to headquarters when killed.
🔮 Possible Additions (Subject to progress): Hand-Based Movement: I’m adding the option to switch movement so it no longer relies on the direction you're looking.
Enemy Fire Suppression Visibility: Both players and enemies will now experience bullet suppression effects when under fire. I may add additional behaviors to enemies in this situation.
Controller Mapping Options: I’m working on adding the ability to map controls similarly to other popular games, with options in the menu.
New Weapon - Light Machine Gun M249: I’m hoping to include the M249 LMG, but its release may depend on the final progress of other features.
💬 Have any suggestions or ideas for the features on this list? Feel free to drop your thoughts while I’m still deep into development!
Thank you so much for your support and patience!
