Suppression in CWB

The last couple of weeks have been spent adding more visual combat effects and scenario building. As a change of pace for this update I thought I would share an explanation of how suppression works in CWB.

fixedHere we want our British Infantry platoon to attack a GDR Company HQ which is sitting on a VP. We could just Right click and attack. 3 of our sections are still alive so we would get 3 attack rolls (All resolved at once) but the enemy which has not retaliated this turn would get 2 attacks in return.
changedIn this case we suppressed them as indicated by the "S" on their counter and reduced their strength.

Helpfully we have a 3" Mortar Platoon nearby. Artillery and Mortars can suppress units as well as damaging them. Suppressed units are unable to retaliate for the rest of the players turn.

In this case we suppressed them as indicated by the "S" on their counter and reduced their strength.

Victory.

CWB is fast and easy to play with simple left click to select and right click to act controls but proper use of smoke, artillery, cover and transports will make things much easier. A proper manual will be included and hopefully some videos to help players become expert COY / BN / BDE commanders.
