Gameplay
addedNew Scenarios:The invasion of Grenada and the Vietnam War each got a scenario added to the 'misc' category which is scenarios from the 1945-89 period that were seperate from the NATO - Pact showdown in Europe. Also a French Mechanised Infantry battalion and AMX-30B2 Tank Battalion were added so naturally had to give the French a scenario too, in this case their Berlin Brigade in 1985.
addedNew Units and nations:New scenarios obviously means having new folks to fight in them and trying to get their stats right. The organisation of VC or Grenada PRG forces was different and somewhat more fluid than conventional armies but I think I got it right. France, the VC, NVA and Grenada (With Cuba) and even civilians to protect all got included the last couple of weeks even if for now some of them only get 1 scenario.
fixedOptimisation and gameplay tweaks:As I said before hex math and things like visibility and pathfinding can be a real resource hog. Especially if you end up accidentally doing 1000's of unnecessary calculations a second. Having found where that was happening and fixed it, I can report things are now running smoother than ever and with minimal RAM and CPU footprint. Dull but important.
changedOptimisation and gameplay tweaks:I also made some tweaks to the AI, specifically about how they attack and use transports. Having suffered several defeats I can say I am now much happier with it.
changedOptimisation and gameplay tweaks:Anyway, that's it for now, stay tuned and thanks for reading.
changedOptimisation and gameplay tweaks:Chris.
