🛠️ Update 0.6.3 – Patch Notes Thank you for continuing to play Codebreakers VR! This new update brings a ton of improvements designed to optimize the experience, expand accessibility, and make every mission even more intense. Here’s everything that’s new:
🎮 Gameplay & Experience
Power selection: From the base, you can now choose which powers to take into missions and assign them to the buttons you prefer.
Difficulty adjustment: Missions have been rebalanced for a fairer and more progressive challenge.
- 180° turn fadeAdded a smooth fade effect for quick turns, improving comfort and reducing motion sickness.
Music preloading: Songs now load in parallel with the environment to prevent stutters at the start of a level.
Improved start in Warehouse: You now start inside an elevator when the level begins.
🌍 Accessibility & Languages
New languages available! (text only): German, Italian, French, Dutch, and Portuguese.
🔫 Graphics & Sound
- Weapon effectsMuzzle flashes adjusted for more visual impact.
Improved collisions: Bullet impact effects now vary depending on the material (plants, metal, concrete, wood, pipes).
- Visual feedback for power-upsAdded a visual effect when picking up a power-up.
Hacking machine sound feedback: Each pressed digit now plays a sound.
- Song previewsFrom the base, you can listen to a preview of songs available for the level.
- Shield impact soundsNew sound when bullets hit your shield.
Audio queue: Dialogues can now be queued to avoid overlapping.
🧭 Maps & Environment
Redesigned Warehouse: Layout and path changes with visual improvements.
- Full retexturingMore immersive atmosphere with new textures.
Rescaled objects: More realistic proportions relative to the player.
Improved proximity detector: The hacking machine outline is now highlighted instead of showing an arrow.
📋 Menus & UI
- Revamped pause menuNew black-and-white background clearly indicates the paused state.
- Victory/defeat indicatorsGeneric ones removed. Now there are custom audio cues depending on the result.
🧠 Tutorial
- Option to replayAvailable from a new screen next to the shooting range.
⏱️ Time Indicators
Time remaining alerts:
At 30 seconds: vibration + red frame on the timer screen.
Last 5 seconds: 5 short vibrations on the left controller.
