Clutch: The Drift Simulation changes
Clutch: The Simulation — New Build Update
This update is a pretty big foundation pass for *Clutch: The Simulation*. A lot of the work is behind the scenes, but it should make the game feel cleaner, more stable, and easier to set up.
Big Changes
New Launcher The game now starts through a new launcher, giving Clutch a cleaner entry point and making future updates/settings easier to manage.
Updated to Unity 6.3 The project has been moved to Unity 6.3, bringing the game onto a newer engine base for future development.
Reworked Force Feedback The FFB system has been rebuilt to be more resilient and consistent across different hardware setups. There will still be tuning work, but the foundation is much stronger now.
New UI Styling The UI has been redone with a cleaner style and better structure. This should make the game feel less like a pile of debug menus held together with duct tape.
Control Mapping Wizard A new control mapping wizard has been added to make setting up wheels, pedals, controllers, and keyboards less painful.
Camera System Rework The camera system has been reworked. Third-person view is currently the focus, with more camera work planned later.
Driving / Physics
Latest Pacejka Tire Model Implemented The tire model has been upgraded with the latest Pacejka implementation.
Tire Model Input and Internal Tuning Changes The tire model’s inputs and internal behavior have been tweaked to improve feel, consistency, and tuning flexibility.
Pacejka Visualizer and Tuner Added A new in-game Pacejka visualizer/tuner has been added. Press **N** while in the car to open it.
Multiplayer
Multiplayer Version 1 is Complete The first working version of multiplayer is now in place.
A dedicated server executable is available to download from the website for anyone who wants to host their own server.
This is still an early multiplayer foundation, so expect more polish, fixes, and features over time.
Scoring
Basic Scoring System Added The foundation of the scoring system has been added. It currently works mainly in single-player, with fuller implementation still planned.
---
This update is less about flashy new content and more about making Clutch stronger underneath: better setup, better controls, better physics tools, better multiplayer groundwork, and a cleaner base to build on from here.
