Clumsy Runners changes
As we promised back in 2017 (good times!), we’ve returned to working on the complete overhaul of Clumsy Runners. That said, we only got the opportunity to dive back into the project about two months ago. Over the past few years, our team has been busy developing other games — some of which have become decently popular here on Steam!
Process
In the past two months, we’ve rewritten Clumsy Runners' entire codebase from scratch. Here’s why:
The original version of the game was created during a 48-hour game jam, and then evolved into a Steam Early Access release. That kind of code isn't very maintainable for long-term development.
We’ve added online multiplayer as well as local co-op! We love how it’s turning out and can’t wait to show it to you once it’s ready.
Plans
In about two weeks, we’ll announce a Multiplayer Test event, available via the Steam beta testing program for anyone interested in trying it out. We’d love to hear your feedback!
We also have plans for new features focused on enhancing the multiplayer experience — though we’re not quite ready to reveal those just yet. For now, we want to see if our multiplayer foundation works well, gather feedback, and make adjustments if necessary. After that, we’ll be ready for new announcements and feature development.
Standing on the Shoulders of Giants
We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who supported us back in 2016–2017 and gave Clumsy Runners a shot. Over 6,000 players across all platforms — that’s wild!
To everyone still following the game: we see you. We still believe the core idea is fun and deserves to be explored further. Honestly, we can’t ignore the itch anymore.
Thanks, everyone — let’s make something fun and curious together. 🚀
