Howdy, Clerks from around the globe!
We just shipped a fresh demo update yesterday, you can find the complete patch notes below! To summarize, this update adds quality-of-life features, community requests, a truckload of bug-fixes and some design adjustments. We’re planning another QoL update of similar scope on March 12th, so stay close! Good luck being employee of the week!
CONTENT
We tested our layout generation tools and added a new “medium” layout. We hope you like it 😄 Adding more layouts is extremely fast, so it’s a design/balancing job to make the layouts fun!
BALANCING
Balanced some appliance prices and made some appliances available only if you needed them for an item. For example: If you have no weapon items, you no longer get training dummies offered by Parcella.
Added weighted rolls to appliances offered by Parcella. - Increases probability for core appliances (e.g., counters or infusers) - Decreases probability for luxury appliances (e.g., premium awards or gates) - You may still get a core appliance like a counter AND a workstation in the same roll, but that is very rare. - Still needs balancing. You will see fewer auto-splitter/process bench/facing desks and will need to use upgrades instead.
Some items (daggers / icy blossoms/ other secret ones) no longer require their basic counterpart before being selected. This means you no longer need flaming roses before getting icy blossoms or blades before getting daggers in your run.
Nerf fiery friday and quirky friday challenges.
IMPROVEMENTS
- REQUESTAdded save slots. You may now have 3 save games existing at a time.
- REQUESTAdded an input to hold your clerk’s position. - Space on KBM. - R2 on gamepads.
New gameplay settings:
REQUEST: Toggle a speedrun timer to appear in the hud. (Time to invite the speedrunners!) We will add per day breakdowns sometime near the full release.
Toggle text animations to reduce motion for accessibility.
Toggle stop-motion animations for accessibility.
- REQUESTAdded an indication of the current day and week to the HUD.
Windows requiring no specific inputs now have a “hold to confirm” to avoid instantly closing them.
Implemented Steam Rich Presence. Your steam friends can now see where you are in the game & what day you’re at. This will be further improved later.
In remote coop, player name & profile picture now appear in the HUD instead of “Player 1/2/3/4” and placeholder faces.
Added a “hold to join” slider to inform when adding an extra player in couch coop.
Game version and build number is now visible at all times in the bottom-right corner.
Added a different patience colour to customers on a waiting bench.
Dummy and waiting bench footsteps now disappear during the day.
Appliances for which you do not have enough currency now have their price in red.
Your run seed now appears in the pause menu. Controlling seed will be a feature for the full release.
FIXES
Over 80 bugs fixed. Some flagged by you guys & some from our backlog. Thanks a ton for your help 🙏 If you encounter any additional bugs, please join our Discord to let us know, so we can squash them as fast as possible! Thank you!!
KNOWN ISSUES
For solo/automation players: We noticed a couple of bugs with the conveyor/split-aparter/process bench and their quirks that we will address asap.
BUT GOOD NEWS: The conveyor now appears during the first week 🙂
