Hello Sweepy Heads! We are excited to bring you the first part of our Combat Update for the Clean Sweep Demo! We have a ton of new features with more on the way, so let's discuss just that!

changedCharacter ReworksWe've reworked a lot of existing character moves including:
addedCharacter ReworksJanitor Hold Standard - The broomerang now follows a new pattern, bouncing between enemies and then going back to the player. Special - The beaunado is now more consistent in drawing germs in and is less frame reliant. General - The Janitor has new animations!
addedCharacter ReworksCharming Passive - Charming's passive now has visual icon to show how much shield she has. Hold Standard - The movement has been revamped as well as there's an initial charge time. It also does more damage. Special - Charming's special is now more consistent at grabbing and slamming down germs. She also turns towards germs more accurately when using the ability. Standard - Charming's punches shouldn't get missed on lower frame rates.

Dodging/Sprinting - That's right, our Janitor can sprint, and not only in combat! Press the dodge button to perform a dodge similar to what was previously in the game. If you hold dodge, you will start sprinting. Feel free to use this to run around the world at full speed!

New Features

Character Reworks

We've reworked a lot of existing character moves including:

Combat Tweaks

We've reworked a number of features of combat including:

  • Hitboxes have been reworked so that their knockback is more consistent.

  • Damage has been completely reworked.

    • Shine, Sanitation, and Luck are now properly utilized! Speaking of:

      • Shine is your crit rate.

      • Sanitation is your crit damage.

      • Luck (which is, in fact, a skill) decreases your chance to be crit as well as increases your chance to super crit.

    • You can now deal crits and the ever elusive SUPER CRIT! If you notice an orange or red damage marker, you will have dealt either a crit or a super crit respectively.

    • The damage marker numbers have been changed!

  • Revives now allow you to select which member of your clean up crew to revive when more than one member is dead.

  • UI has been slightly tweaked in combat. More changes will be coming in the future!

World Encounters

We've added a new system called the World Encounter System. This new system needs it's own header to explain! World Encounters are combat encounters that appear around the world at various times of the day. They have different objectives and can be completed at the player's leisure. You can run away from them, even! When you return, the progress, germs, and health of the germs will remain the same, so feel free to come back to any difficult encounter you may face. With the addition of the world combat system, we've added a new app and reworked an existing app:

  • Items App

    • The Items App has been reworked. You can now select up to 5 items to bring into combat! You can select the items you want to bring with you directly in your phone, and any world encounter you start will have you holding those items. If you feel like your current item situation isn't working, leave the encounter, open your phone, update your items, and return to combat to kick some germ butt!

  • Party App

    • We now have a new app called the Party App! This app allows you to select up to 4 party loadouts which you can set active at any moment! If you'd prefer to bring in only the janitor, make it a loadout! Want one with everyone, make it a loadout! Want one with only the childhood friends, make it a loadout! Unfortunately, this menu is mouse only. We apologize to our controller enthusiasts :(

General Changes

Here's a list of everything that doesn't exactly fall into our combat category:

  • We've fixed a ton of bugs! More than we can list here, but trust us, we fixed a lot.

  • We've created a ton of bugs! Adding more features means adding more bugs. If you spot any, please report them to us in our discord server!

  • We've updated the UI in a lot of places. Nothing crazy, but there will be more changes in the future to a lot of the existing UI.

  • You can now pause during dialogue! Which means you can change your settings or quit a lot easier (but why would you want to do that?).

  • We've added new animations!

  • We've got 2, that's right, TWO new combat music tracks!

  • The tutorial has been tweaked slightly and should function a little better. We've still got more tweaks planned in this department.

  • We've fixed items whose buffs weren't properly working.

  • Clean Sweep will now appear on Discord as an activity! Show off your cleaning skills to your friends!

  • Notice the version number in the top of the announcement? We actual use those now. It's been a long time coming lol.

  • And more!
