Repeated intro
Hey Clawpunks!
What changed
- Gameplay
- Maps
- Security
- Balance
- Server
We’re back with another post this time breaking down the core gameplay. With launch just a month away, we want to get you prepared to fight back for Feral City which is being crushed under the oppressive paw of F.
Feral City
The city is made up of five Zones. To fight your way through each, you’ll need to clear nine stages, including a mini-boss and a full boss fight!
Junkyard - A cluttered industrial zone filled with scrap and tight corridors. Watch out for traps and landmines among the debris!
Woodlands - An open forest zone with roaming undead and weasel-like enemies. Expect sudden swarms, gunfights, and lots of goo.
Construction - An unfinished tower filled with narrow corridors. Expect to be attacked from above and forced to fight while moving between heights.
Sewers - A tight, dark, yet electrified zone with mutated scientist enemies. Slower navigation but high enemy density.
Ruff Tower - A heavily fortified tower with elite enemies and minimal room for error. Expect tough fights, ranged attacks and overall increased security.
So how are you meant to claw your way through all that!?
Basic Controls
Most cats feature standard movement controls to go left/right and jump. You also have a few different options for smashing your way through enemies and the environment:
Basic Attacks – the classic way to deal damage
Kicking – stun your enemies and boot them across the screen
Guns – special temporary weapons
Grenades – thrown explosives
You also have additional controls like dodge and double jump with characters like Dash. Get used to using your whole kit effectively to get high scores and grades across each stage.
Next, let’s talk about putting all these to good use!
Rage Mode & Chaos System
Destroying tiles, killing enemies and collecting pink orbs generates RAGE! If you can fill your Rage Meter through uninterrupted carnage, you’ll be able to enter RAGE MODE! This massively increases your damage and makes you temporarily invincible! Every cat also has a unique Rage Mode Ability. Try them out to find you favourite way to wreak havok!
Clawpunk also tracks your Chaos. You can either cause as much destruction and mayhem as possible or play evasive and speedily. If you destroy F’s TVs and cameras, wreck the level tiles and kill enemies, you’ll generate CHAOS.
Fill the Chaos Bar to earn a Chaos Coin at the end of the stage. These are used to unlock new playable cats, collectible cards and more! But if you choose to run, F’s remaining TVs and Cameras will track you in later stages, so watch out.
The Airfield
Beyond the borders of Feral City lies the Airfield where Dash made base. Here you’ll spend Chaos Coins on upgrades like Collectible Cards, additional grenades slots and unlocking more playable cats!
We hope this breakdown equips you for the scrap coming your way! You can get to grips with the game in our free demo ahead of launch coming 14 November! Consider following us on social media, joining our Discord server and spreading the word! Stay clawsome.
