Repeated intro
Hello Prehistorians! It has been a long minute since our last Community Update, and we have lots to discuss! First and foremost, to all of you that have joined us on this journey this year, thank you! We are a small team and to have such a strong growing community around this game has meant the world to us - especially on the tougher days that development can bring. We really do appreciate you for your support and feedback. Speaking of support... Thanks to all of you, Clawed has reached 140,000 Wishlists since the game's announcement in January this year. We cannot thank you enough for the kindness. This is far beyond what we ever imagined. We are blown away. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you :)

changedSteam post image Main Street (Above) and Herbivore Haven Entrance (Below) Steam post imageOkay, so with all said, let's get to our topics! Release Date. When? So, we'd like to get the uncomfortable part out of the way. Clawed will now release in Q1 2026. Clawed is in the polishing and final testing stage of development and while we could try to still squeeze the game into December, we know that the best thing for the game and our players is to spend more time testing and polishing. We know this may be disappointing to some of you. For this we are truly sorry, however please know that we want this game to be great. We are a new studio and Clawed is our debut release. We want to ensure that we get it right for our players and hand over the best experience we can. What has caused the delay? The demo has been a huge learning experience for us and has proved to be a fantastic test bed for feedback and stress testing our systems. Anyone who has played Clawed demo in Co-op has probably seen several key areas that still needed work. While we were doing our best to patch the co-op systems, we decided to go back and rework some systems entirely - which in turn contributed in us being a little quiet over the last few months as we focused on this. However, that work has come together nicely, but we would like more time to test further so that we can be sure of a solid co-op experience at release.Steam post image This game has been forged around our community feedback. As we've mentioned in the past posts, feedback from the community has been vital in helping shape this game. From Stealth mechanics, weapon balancing, the flashlight system, to the First-Person camera option, your feedback has helped us greatly improve the experience across many areas of the game. The demo itself has greatly improved since it dropped in July this year thanks to the community and constructive critique. There are still many more requested features you will find in the full release that never made it into the demo. So, as we near release, we discuss them in more detail. Steam post image Now, we know there are still many questions about Clawed, so seeing we thought this would be a good time to answer some Community Questions and share more about the game. Q&A - Questions from the Community. Q: Will the demo save progress carry over to the full game? A: No, the demo version of Prehistoria was built around an older version of the park. Meaning, the full game's park and layout are completely different. There are locations that will be familiar such as the museum but its position in the park and puzzles are different. By separating the maps, we were able to test the game, get feedback on the park design and ensure that all players have a fresh experience on Launch Day.Steam post image Q: is the game Open World or does it have levels? A: Prehistoria is a seamless open world. However, much of the park is gated or locked down when you first start your adventure, so you will need to explore to and figure out how to reach certain areas and locations. Q: Are there secret areas or bonus areas? What about side quests? A: Yes, there are hidden spots all over the island. While the main Tasks/Quests will take you through many locations, there are areas of the park that are optional to explore. Some are easy to find; some require some detective skills. Steam post imageQ: Are the collectables things which can make fun gameplay changes, or just "find the hidden soda cans"? A: There are both! Some collectables are simply there to be collected, while others serve purposes around the park :) Q: Could there be the potential for diving gear or a dive knife so 1 weapon could work underwater? A: There is indeed. You'll need to find it, but the Ranger's Scuba gear will allow for longer underwater exploration and faster traversal in the water. Some weapons will also fire underwater :) Q: Do you have any plans to support modding? A: Not currently, However, who knows what the future holds. We are certainty not closed off to the idea.Steam post image Q: How has all the blood on the streets in the demo not been washed away by the rain? A: ...That's a really good poi.... Next question! Q: Do you have to kill the dinos? A: No, you can complete the game without killing any dinos at all. Tranquilizing them is an option :) Steam post image Q: How long does it take to complete the Main game? A: We are still working out the average time, but our current estimate is between 10 - 20 hours depending on time spent on side missions and collectables. Q: What is Tourist Mode? A: Tourist mode is a separate mode where you can play as a tourist and visit the park during its operation. You can take tours, buy from the stores, play games and visit all the dino enclosures solo or with your friends in co-op. Q: How big are the enclosures? Are they all small like the Steg enclosure in the demo? A: The enclosures vary in size. However, some of them are very large, such as Megalodon Lagoon, Herbivore haven and so on. Herbivore haven is a mountainous trek with multiple pathways, locations, Ranger posts and hidden areas. Fully exploring the enclosures is optional but not required to complete the main game. Q: Will there be paid DLC? A: Too early to say. We have some ideas. However, we are also not big fans of gatekeeping content behind a paywall. If we do a paid DLC in the future, it will have to make sense for us as a studio and be something significant enough to justify it for our players - perhaps something like new parks to explore or a different take on experience entirely. Q: Will there be any more updates to the Demo? A: Content wise - no. However, we will be bringing our improved Co-op systems to the demo in the near future to stress test them in a public setting. Okay, well, I hope that answers at least some of your questions about Clawed. Thank you to everyone for your questions. I think that we got to the most common ones, but If we missed yours, please comment on this post or jump onto our discord and we'll do our best to answer it!
addedAgain, we really appreciate all the support we have received. The game is almost done. Just a little longer and we'll have more to share in our next update, including a new trailer and a first look at tourist mode! Feel free to join us on Discord too! Our community is growing quickly, and everyone is super helpful and supportive! That's it from us today! Hope everyone has a great weekend ahead! Flatrock Team :)
