City Car Driving 2.0 changes
Hello, car enthusiasts!
We’ve prepared two major updates and a bunch of improvements to make the game even more comfortable.
🛠 Steam Workshop
The Steam Workshop is now open! You can now upload your own mods and share them with the community.
Please note: the current functionality does not yet include a full world editor or support for replacing car models, but we are working on it.
You can find the mod publishing guide here:
🏎 New Car Physics
Since launch, we’ve received a lot of feedback regarding car behavior at high speeds: above 80 km/h, cars were difficult to control. We’ve completely overhauled the physics! Cars now behave predictably at any speed, making handling much smoother and more responsive.
This isn't the final version—we're still working on the physics, so you might encounter some rough edges at this stage:
— Minor FPS drops.
— ABS issues: when triggered, wheels might lock up incorrectly at the wrong time.
If you run into these or any other issues, please let us know via direct messages or on our social media. We’re keeping a close eye on your feedback and will be rolling out fixes promptly.
Give the new physics a try! Share your thoughts—it’s important for us to hear what you think and ensure we’re heading in the right direction.
⚙️ Other Improvements and Fixes
Visuals and Cameras:
— Fixed visual desync between the wheels and the car body at high speeds.
— Increased the default camera Field of View (FOV) from 90 to 100 for a much more comfortable driving experience.
— Added an FOV slider to the settings menu for manual adjustment.
— Adjusted the rearview mirror angles on the Eclauto and Groberolf for better visibility.
— Fixed incorrect glass transparency rendering in the mirrors.
— Fixed image rendering for triple-monitor setups (no more stretching).
Controls and UI:
— Fixed steering wheel wobble on certain vehicles at low speeds.
— Adjusted the auto-cancel threshold for turn signals: they now turn off correctly when changing lanes.
— Added a "Restart Session" button to Sandbox mode.
— Fixed a bug in the phone's traffic fines menu: the UI now closes properly, allowing you to interact with other elements freely.
— Removed input delay when dragging cargo with a gamepad.
Gameplay Mechanics & Bug Fixes:
— Added profile name validation: you can no longer leave it blank, preventing potential errors.
— Fixed an issue with the Groberolf's trunk: all inventory inside is now fully accessible without restrictions.
— Fixed incorrect message timestamp display in the in-game messenger.
Happy driving!
