Hello Human farmers, I am Yash, a solo indie game developer from Delhi, India. I've been making games since 2013.

Last year in 2024, I quit my job and decided to finally start my long time dream of becoming an independent developer. I read George Orwell’s Animal Farm in school which is a satirical beast fable about farm animals overthrowing their human oppressors, which sparked the idea of flipping the script: what if animals ran farms and humans were the livestock?
Later, playing Palworld showed me exactly how to structure engaging gameplay loops. Here I started working on my first serious project; Chiklet's Human Products, A farming game where animals farm human products.
I started posting on reddit and people were really excited about the idea. On a couple of subreddits the idea went viral and people’s comments were absolutely bonkers XD Let me share a few links with you:-

I also went to Comic Con Mumbai to showcase a small playable build and there also the response was amazing. Not only were people excited about the idea, they were also giving their own inputs as to what more can be added to the game. That part was really exhilarating.
A month ago I partnered with my publisher Rockgame and they are helping me make Chiklet’s world as fleshed out and addicting as possible. I now have a team of talented and passionate artists working with me to bring this game to life.
Since then I have changed the environment of the game completely and a lot of the game's assets have been replaced with much better and polished ones. The game now has a completely new personality and I would love for you guys to take a look and share your valuable feedback. I have made a before and after video of that :-
Other than that we are now working on revamping the UI completely. We are making very stylistic choices with the UI, for example, Our ‘Item quick select’ bar is in the form of a belt with 8 columns :-
Also you can see our objective notepad at the top right of the screen.
Here are some rough sketches of how other parts of our UI will look like :-
It will have a compass for objective markers and buttons for various menus and health, money and Day time indication. Our Inventory will be in the form of Chiklet’s Bag :-
As you can see the above are under development right now but you will be able to see them in the final version in the next devlog.
If you have gone through our reddit posts comment sections, you would have noticed a pattern, People want us to change how our humans look. They want the humans to look more cartoony and exaggerated just like our animal characters. So we listened and have now changed the humans :-
They will have exaggerated cartoony animations which you will see in the next devlog.
Other than humans we are also making new animal characters too, here is a model sheet of our new farmer, Rattlet :-

One major thing we have changed in terms of gameplay is the camera controls. Earlier the game had fixed camera perspective and you were not able to rotate
