addedToday I'm very excited to announce that **Chess Kingdom is now launched as a 1.0 release!** That doesn't mean I'll stop developing though. Chess is a very complicated game, and this game contains 5 game modes, 2 variants (Atomic and Kung Fu Chess), 40 AI personalities, a 6-chapter campaign, 40,000 puzzles, an Opening Explorer, Endgame Trainer, Board Editor, and 48 piece sets across 24 languages. So I doubt I found every single bug. Plus if there's more the playerbase wants and I can add, I will.
addedA lot has been added during development. A short overview:
addedA native Linux build - Completely overhauled the AI to make it smarter and more distinct - Added many more AI opponents (40 in total) - Added Atomic Chess and Kung Fu Chess - Added League mode - Overhauled the onboarding to make it easier and more fun to jump into - Added 3D pieces for every set in the game - Added more localizations - And lots more I'm probably forgetting
addedYour first match counts Jump straight into a 3-match placement arc with a real league division as the payoff. New to chess? A guided path walks you through the basics first, then drops you into a beginner-tier match. A friendly first-move coach helps you find your footing.
changedLooks and sounds right - 3D pieces are now the default - Audio opens at a comfortable 15% with a smooth fade-in
fixedPolish across the board - League hub welcome hero with rules at a glance - Redesigned postgame dashboard - Pinned pieces now flash visible feedback. No more silent clicks - 3D thumbnails on rewards and unlock chips - Lesson screen fixed for Steam Deck and laptop displays

Hi Everyone,

Today I'm very excited to announce that **Chess Kingdom is now launched as a 1.0 release!** That doesn't mean I'll stop developing though.

A lot has been added during development. A short overview:

  • A native Linux build - Completely overhauled the AI to make it smarter and more distinct - Added many more AI opponents (40 in total) - Added Atomic Chess and Kung Fu Chess - Added League mode - Overhauled the onboarding to make it easier and more fun to jump into - Added 3D pieces for every set in the game - Added more localizations - And lots more I'm probably forgetting

Today another patch goes live with:

Smarter opponents Master and Legend now play distinctly. Legend thinks longer and judges sacrifices tighter. Endgames dig deeper so technical wins actually finish. Eight opening mainlines (Italian, Fried Liver, Ruy Lopez, Caro-Kann, and more) are now fully prepared.

Your first match counts Jump straight into a 3-match placement arc with a real league division as the payoff. New to chess? A guided path walks you through the basics first, then drops you into a beginner-tier match. A friendly first-move coach helps you find your footing.

Looks and sounds right - 3D pieces are now the default - Audio opens at a comfortable 15% with a smooth fade-in

Wins that feel like wins - A proper first-win celebration with Steam Achievement caption - Next-unlock chip on every postgame so you always know what's coming - Exit-confirm now catches title-bar X and Alt-F4, so your streak protection follows you out the door

Polish across the board - League hub welcome hero with rules at a glance - Redesigned postgame dashboard - Pinned pieces now flash visible feedback. No more silent clicks - 3D thumbnails on rewards and unlock chips - Lesson screen fixed for Steam Deck and laptop displays

23 languages, fully covered 2,660 new translations across 23 la guages. Every screen speaks your language. To celebrate the launch I also set up a bundle with the just launched Mining Merchant for some extra discount

And don't forget, owners of Chess Kingdom will get a discount on the upcoming Checkers Kingdom:

Whether you've been with me from the start or just joined, thank you so much! Please let me know your feedback and I'll continue to improve the game to make it the chess game you want. And if you want to help out, a review would be extremely helpful.
