New Staunton Piece Set

The default piece set has been completely redesigned! The old "Classic Wood" set has been retired and replaced with a brand-new Staunton set featuring beautifully crafted pieces with a clean, polished aesthetic inspired by the iconic tournament-standard Staunton design.

Override Opponent Pieces

Added a new toggle in Gameplay settings to override your opponent's piece set with your own. When enabled, both sides of the board will always display your equipped set instead of your opponent's.

No more visual clutter from mismatched sets during online games!

Piece Identification Labels

Added a new "Show Piece Labels" option! Hover over any piece with your mouse to see a tooltip showing its name (Pawn, Knight, Bishop, etc.).

Full controller support, when using a gamepad, the piece name appears in a persistent panel near the move list as you move your cursor across the board.

Great for beginners still learning which piece is which, and will create some clarity when using the themed sets.

Controller Support Improvements

Did another pass on controller support to improve the experience. If you play with a controller, I'd love to hear your feedback!

Localization Improvements

Piece identification labels, override opponent pieces setting, and rating type labels on the Profile screen are now fully translated across all 16 supported languages.

Thanks for playing Chess Kingdom! As always, I'd love to hear your feedback, drop a comment below or join the discussion. Your input shapes every update.

See you on the board!
