Hello and welcome, Invaders!
New year, new progress report!
Happy New Year!
Thank you and right back at ya!
Things are still coming along over here in my little corner of my basement. I’ve been plugging away at porting the systems all over to Godot 4, and I’m making forward progress. Currently, I have the following done:
Steam Input Handling (did this early this time!)
Waves Combat System
Enemies
Interactions
Player Characters
World Generation
Safe Zones
Harvesting
Loot
Oh ok, so a lot of the under the hood stuff is ready again!
Yup! Here’s what’s left:
Crafting
Building
Questing/Dialogue
Level Ups/Upgrades
I’m actually planning on refactoring both the building system and the Quests/Dialogue systems.
The building system needs to be a little more engaging . It was cool and all, but I want you to be able to customize stuff a bit more to your own liking.
And the quest/dialogue system works well-enough as-is, but a LOT of playtesters expected to be able to talk to the characters to turn in quests, which is admittedly a standard for gaming that I was willing to forego because as a player, it’s not always a bad thing to have to learn how a specific game handles a specific task, but since I’m going to have to be in here messing with it anyway I might as well meet an expectation you all have while I’m at it.
All that said, I’m getting back to work meow.
