addedUnity version has been updated to fix the recently discovered engine vulnerability before it can be exploited. This was a rather small update for me and has not created any issues on the development side, but I cannot guarantee that no new bugs have appeared on account of it. Fingers crossed!
addedDrone upgrades have been added to the demo. This feature was originally intended to only become available once the full version launches but based on feedback I've moved it forward and implemented it now. Together with a slight renovation of the ship select interface, two new upgrades have been added: Drone hull and Drone armor. These are relatively expensive to account for the power of armored and tanky drones, but should be attainable for drone-focused players during mid-endgame.
changedForges have been nerfed somewhat. Specifically, the scaling factor of health-related stats like armor has been reduced to reign in the extreme exponential potential of successive forge upgrades. While this change should not affect balancing throughout the beginning of the game too much, it will restrain builds going into the highscore-relevant endgame.
changedMissions have been updated to show a preview of the credits gained upon completion. While this reward has always been based on area difficulty, doing the math manually is an unnecessary step that this update removes. In addition, enemy composition has been tweaked to allow greater numbers of stronger enemies to appear as mission targets, especially in later encounters.
changedThere are also a number of smaller changes and fixes to UI:
addeda notification for switching between control modes has been added

I've got the first October update coming and there are some notable changes:

  • Unity version has been updated to fix the recently discovered engine vulnerability before it can be exploited. This was a rather small update for me and has not created any issues on the development side, but I cannot guarantee that no new bugs have appeared on account of it. Fingers crossed!

  • Drone upgrades have been added to the demo. This feature was originally intended to only become available once the full version launches but based on feedback I've moved it forward and implemented it now. Together with a slight renovation of the ship select interface, two new upgrades have been added: Drone hull and Drone armor. • Forges have been nerfed somewhat. Specifically, the scaling factor of health-related stats like armor has been reduced to reign in the extreme exponential potential of successive forge upgrades. While this change should not affect balancing throughout the beginning of the game too much, it will restrain builds going into the highscore-relevant endgame.

  • Missions have been updated to show a preview of the credits gained upon completion. While this reward has always been based on area difficulty, doing the math manually is an unnecessary step that this update removes. In addition, enemy composition has been tweaked to allow greater numbers of stronger enemies to appear as mission targets, especially in later encounters.

There are also a number of smaller changes and fixes to UI:

-a notification for switching between control modes has been added

-a UI hint reminding players to choose a ship has been added to the ship selection menu

-an issue where the minimap would appear when exiting out of the ship select menu back to main menu has been fixed

-added confirmations to both quit and suspend functions from pause menu

I've also changed the default control scheme to bind throttle to Z/X and yaw to Q/E. These bindings should be more familiar and comfortable for new players.

I hope you have fun with drones in this update, and let me know about any further suggestions and feedback you have!
