Hey there!

What changed

0 fixes2 additions4 changes0 removals
  • Gameplay
  • UI and audio
changedOverview Text has been improved to properly match camera rotation in all modes, significantly improving the usability of ship-aligned camera mode (formerly "fighter mode").
addedIndirect control has been expanded with a new mouse pointing control. Simply click on a point in space while in indirect mode to immediately move the steering pip to that position. The graphic of this UI element has also been changed to be more readable and clear.
changedThrottle control has been enabled during indirect control mode. Previously, a bug prevented the normal, incremental throttle adjustments (default bind Q and E) from working properly in this mode. Together with this, a small adjustment has been made to turning behaviour in this mode to make it more less variable based on angular distance from the steering pip.
addedTutorial flow has been improved by adding always-visible markers to all tutorial buoys. This should reduce confusion about where to go early on.
changedAdditionally, some slight UI tweaks have been made to the ship selection flow to make it clearer which buttons lead to gameplay. This update (as well as the last) also include some early performance optimizations that should reduce CPU and GPU load by a small amount.
changedA small call for feedback - if you're someone who's played a significant amount of the demo (3hr+) and have not been in contact with me yet, I'd love to hear from you! Whether on the Discord, here in the discussions or via DM, I'm very interested in your opinion on the game so far and any ideas or input you may have for improvements!

  • Indirect control has been expanded with a new mouse pointing control. Simply click on a point in space while in indirect mode to immediately move the steering pip to that position. The graphic of this UI element has also been changed to be more readable and clear.

  • Tutorial flow has been improved by adding always-visible markers to all tutorial buoys. This should reduce confusion about where to go early on.

  • Photo mode now properly disables the minimap display when selected (and enables it again when exited).

Additionally, some slight UI tweaks have been made to the ship selection flow to make it clearer which buttons lead to gameplay. This update (as well as the last) also include some early performance optimizations that should reduce CPU and GPU load by a small amount.

I hope you enjoy this update!
