Catamyst v1.1.2: Options Menu Refresh & more!

I work on these updates in my evenings after work, so I can never guarantee how often these will come out, but I'm hopefully for lots more to come.

v1.1.2 focuses on refreshing the Options Menu, whilst also doing a lot of under-the-hood cleanups on older code systems. You'll also notice some visual polish across menus to make the game feel more animated.

The next update will focus on the Roguelike Upgrades for reducing lag and improving menu visuals.

Beyond that, I'm looking at Controller Support (plus Steam Deck!) as the next large update!

UI / UX Improvements

  • Added new settings in the Options Menu.

    • FPS Limit - (30 to 120 / Uncapped).

    • Fullscreen Modes - (Fullscreen / Borderless / Windowed).

    • Toggle Scanline Filter.

    • Customisable Potion Splash sounds - (All / Glass Only / Molecule Only / None).

  • Added a “Controls” section to the Options Menu that lets you view all control binds.

    • Control Rebinding will come in a later update.

  • Pressing Esc on the Main Menu will now close your current interface.

  • Interacting with a lot of UI elements will now have small animations.

    • Main Menu buttons

    • Journal buttons / entries.

    • Potion Bar buttons

    • Potion XP Bar gaining XP smoothing.

    • In-level run buttons (such as Start Wave).

    • Pause Menu buttons.

  • Fixed an issue with Journal data not loading properly on pages.

  • Fixed an issue that caused noticeable lag when opening the Journal.

  • Resolution / Fullscreen Mode is correctly remembered across play sessions.

Other

  • Upgraded the game to Unity 6.

  • Some under-the-hood script tidy ups. This is part of an on-going effort to improve the codebase, performance and enhance future development. You might find these areas perform better or feel nicer!

    • Options Menu.

    • Potion Bar management.

    • Player Crafting script.

  • Updated the game icon.
