Catamyst changes
Hi!
Catamyst v1.2 is finally here! It took a bit longer than expected as... I kept adding stuff to the update. Whoops. Anyway we're finally here and the update is out now!
To start, Catamyst has a new logo! Your library should update all its assets soon with the brand new design, and you'll see it in the Main Menu in-game.
Next up, are Wave Modifiers - unique effects that have a chance to occur every single wave. These modifiers replace the former "Negative Modifiers" that you'd find attached to rare Enchantments.
Unlike the previous modifiers, these aren't purely negative. Instead, they'll find ways to change up how you manage the wave.
For example... Heavy Rainstorm!
This wave modifier slows all enemies down by 10%, I guess the Barcs got waterlogged or something.
You'll notice some darker lighting and even the rain splashing off of Willow's head (the rain can even hit your cursor!).
As a starter in this update, there are 7 total modifiers to discover. Miniboss/Boss waves have their own modifier to let you know a scary wave is coming up. This system is designed to easily have more modifiers, so definitely more to come later on.
The next major update is the Upgrade Menu Refresh. This portion of the update completely overhauls all upgrade-related interface and makes them look nicer, be more interactive, and more performant.
The following menus have been reworked and improved:
Enchantment Selection.
Potion Selection.
Catalyst Selection.
Obelisk Shop Menu.
Enchantment Display (aka showing your list of owned Enchantments).
Stats Display.
Potion Bar Hover Infobox.
Take a look at the redesigns below:

You'll also notice a couple more changes in the update:
Enchantments have a new rarity system, allowing you to get multiple higher tier Enchantments per wave, if you're really lucky.
More purchase options have been added to the Shop, but you can no longer purchase Health/Vis. You can still convert between Molecules. This is primarily for balance reasons and also reducing time in menus between rounds.
The Potion Selection display a ton more information, allowing you to properly understand how each potion functions.
A new Artifact has arrived for purchase in the Shop - the Obelisk Shard! When activated, this Artifact will teleport you to the centre of the arena, allowing you to escape your foes.
That's all of the main features, but there's a lot more below in the patch notes!
Thanks for playing Catamyst! I hope this update makes the game even more fun to play.
Catamyst v1.3 will focus on reworking the Journal, Achievements and Unlockables - look forward to that in the coming months.
