changedFirst off, I would like to start with a apologize to every person that tried the game since 2022, unfortunately as a single dev I couldn't prioritize Carrot Revenge over life because it is not a profitable revenue for me (hope this changes soon) and I couldn't spend much time over the past couple years in the project, now that I was able to save some money I'm back to the project and planning to finish/release by July 2025.
changedThis demo beta version is gonna be used through the upcoming June/25 SteamFest, next big release is gonna be the full game which will include all 3 acts (demo has whole 1st act) and Arena mode, which is planned to be a endless mode with level ups and different enemies every wave.
fixed• Camera DisplayCamera was changed from the a fixed whole map perspective to a smaller and moving area.
changed• Camera DisplayThis was necessary to allow better movement from the player perspective and give more clarity to what is going on in the screen, as a bullet hell, cluttering is gonna happen anyway so we have to avoid it when possible, camera being closer to the player is gonna help in most case scenarios.
added• Level Up System Revamp3 New Legendary Upgrades added: 1) Vampirism - every hit on an enemy will heal Rabbit for a set percentage. 2) Heal on Stun - every stun on an enemy will heal Rabbit for a set amount. 3) Max Health - increases your maximum health.

Now, let's head to the updates, there's a lot of them.

MAJOR UPDATES

• Camera Display

  • Camera was changed from the a fixed whole map perspective to a smaller and moving area.

  • This was necessary to allow better movement from the player perspective and give more clarity to what is going on in the screen, as a bullet hell, cluttering is gonna happen anyway so we have to avoid it when possible, camera being closer to the player is gonna help in most case scenarios.

• Level Up System Revamp

  • On the earlier versions, you would press a key to level up at anytime as long as you had enough experience, however this mechanic was bug-prone and also would break the rhythm of the game as pausing was required at every level up.

  • Now, level-up happens automatically at the end of every completed wave, upgrades are still random as they were before.

  • 3 New Legendary Upgrades added:

    1) Vampirism - every hit on an enemy will heal Rabbit for a set percentage.

    2) Heal on Stun - every stun on an enemy will heal Rabbit for a set amount.

    3) Max Health - increases your maximum health.

  • Old legendary upgrades were moved to a new mechanic, Soul Chest, as mentioned below.

• New game mechanic: Soul Chest

  • As you slain enemies you will notice that a new hud on the top right is gonna increase, those are souls and every enemy drops them, the tougher the enemy, the more souls are dropped.

  • Souls can be used at the soul chest which appears on every wave end, over there you will have options to upgrade your carrot, for now these upgrades are:

    1) Carrot Penetration - your projectile penetrates X enemies. (X = upgrade number)

    2) Double Projectile - increases the number of projectiles per shot by X. (X = upgrade number)

    3) Splitting Projectile - after hitting an enemies, the projectile splits into X projectiles. (X = upgrade number)

  • Every upgrade will increase the amount of souls required to the next one, so choose carefully and accordingly to your build.

• New game mechanic: Health Pool

  • Together with the soul chest, you will have the opportunity to use the Health Pool, you can use souls to gain Health or use Health to gain souls, this is a risk reward system which can only be used once per wave.

• New area added: Tutorial

  • Now as you start a new game you will be prompted to enter the tutorial, in the tutorial you will learn the basic mechanics of the game.

• Key Remapping

  • Now you can remap any key that is used in the game.

• Wave System Changes

  • Wave Phases now no longer only start when all enemies from the previous wave phase are slain, they have a timer and will spawn next wave phase enemies when the timer runs out. This changed was necessary to prevent "cheesy" mechanics like waiting for the Rage Meter to come back and then easily clearing out waves.

  • Rage now comes back at every wave end, this will ensure that you will have it available as soon as you start the next wave.

Minor Changes and Bug Fixes

  • Visually Reworked the Map 01 Boss arena.

  • Fixed a case where player projectiles would visually stay on the screen after being destroyed.

  • Added a visual arrow to indicate where off-screen enemies are.

  • UI display and positioning reworked.
