addedWhat was Card Hunter: Adventures supposed to be?Card Hunter is a great game, but as you know, it's more than 10 years old . It's ancient and has a huge technological debt to modern times. Unfortunately, porting it to a modern engine is a backbreaking and time-consuming job, and creating a new game would be much easier. So we tried to make it.
changedWhat was Card Hunter: Adventures supposed to be?Why are we writing about this? Unfortunately, the gaming market has changed significantly this and last year, and publishers are not interested in such projects (they don’t want to risk) - we tried and contacted many of them. Card Hunter: Adventures turns out to be too expensive to make . That's why we had to abandon this idea, but we wanted to be transparent with you, so we put our cards on the table.
addedWhat's next for Card Hunter? This doesn't mean the end of the game; don't worry - the servers will continue to run but don't expect anything new. However, we want you to know what's going on in Cardhuntria. We will continue to maintain the game and support the community.

What was Card Hunter: Adventures supposed to be?

Card Hunter is a great game, but as you know, it's more than 10 years old. It's ancient and has a huge technological debt to modern times. Unfortunately, porting it to a modern engine is a backbreaking and time-consuming job, and creating a new game would be much easier. So we tried to make it.

Card Hunter: Adventures was intended to be the quintessential Card Hunter experience with modern ideas. We planned it as an RPG where you direct adventurers and lead them through various challenges. We invented the"flow" system that rewards playing cards in the correct order. We even created a storyline where our lovely DMs influence the fun!

You can download the prototype of Card Hunter: Adventures here and pitch deck here.

Why are we writing about this? Unfortunately, the gaming market has changed significantly this and last year, and publishers are not interested in such projects (they don’t want to risk) - we tried and contacted many of them. Card Hunter: Adventures turns out to be too expensive to make. That's why we had to abandon this idea, but we wanted to be transparent with you, so we put our cards on the table.

If you see any potential in this idea, if you have any advice, or feedback - we would appreciate all of it. We are open to any suggestions - that is why we are sharing it with you. Especially since we want the legend of Card Hunter to continue.

What's next for Card Hunter?

At this point, further development of Card Hunter is only possible by rewriting the entire game which is expensive, that's why we don't promise anything. For this reason we won’t announce further adventures or features once this topic is clarified.

This doesn't mean the end of the game; don't worry - the servers will continue to run but don't expect anything new. However, we want you to know what's going on in Cardhuntria. We will continue to maintain the game and support the community.

At the same time, we would like to thank you for your trust, for being with us all the time, and for your commitment to Card Hunter! The game would not perform without you for so long! We hope you stay with the game for another 10 years and keep playing and enjoying Cardhuntria's adventures.

We don't say goodbye; we say see you in Cardhuntria! The Knights of Unity team
