Devlog 15: Spirit Field Farming

In previous devlogs, I introduced quite a few spirit herbs. But here’s the thing: we can also grow spirit herbs ourselves in spirit fields. So today, I’m bringing you a quick farming guide!

In A Record of a Mortal’s Journey to Immortality, when Han Li was put in charge of an herb garden, he managed to cultivate millennium-grade spirit herbs and basically achieved “pill-refining freedom.”

Now that we’re trapped in a secret realm, if we want that same kind of freedom, relying on wild foraging alone is obviously not going to cut it. We’ll need to build a dedicated herb garden of our own.

Finding and Making Spirit Fields

While exploring the wilderness, there’s a chance you’ll discover [Fertile Land].

Use a hoe to renovate it, and it will become a spirit field suitable for planting.

Once you sow seeds, the herbs will grow on their own. All you need is a bit of patience until they mature and can be harvested.

If you water or fertilize the herbs, you can also speed up their growth.

“The field is so far away… do we have a shortcut?”

Some of you might ask:

“The spirit field is so far from home. Do we really have to run across the map for every harvest? And Han Li had the Heavenly Bottle to accelerate herb growth… do we have anything like that?”

A legendary artifact like the Heavenly Bottle (the small green bottle) … how could we not have it? Of course I had to recreate it.

When exploring the scorching desert, there’s a chance you’ll come across a withered cultivator’s remains. You can rummage through the pouch on the corpse and find the small green bottle, which grants two uses of accelerated growth for the spirit herbs in your spirit fields. The number of uses will recharge over time.

More Treasure from Cultivator Remains

Besides the Heavenly Bottle, you can also loot other goodies, such as:

● [Myriad Realms Furrowfield Codex]: lets you pack up your fields and relocate them to any tile.

● [Demon-Binding Lock]: can bind evil entities and use them to nourish your spiritual power.

Automating the Herb Garden

One more problem: cultivators spend a long time out exploring and training. So who’s going to manage the herb garden?

That’s why I added planting puppets and water tanks, which can automatically plant and irrigate your spirit fields. Set up the puppet, and all you need to do is come back every so often to harvest.
