Dear Fellow Cultivators,

Having gone through prolonged practical playtesting on the Beta build and multiple rounds of tweaks and refinements, the Free Play Mode and Random Adventure mechanics have matured into stable builds and are officially live with today’s update.

The entire Random Adventure System has been comprehensively rebuilt and optimized, prioritizing smoother early-game progression for new cultivators and lowering entry hurdles. In contrast, Free Play Mode caters to seasoned veterans familiar with the game: it removes fixed rule constraints to unlock greater flexibility for character development and exploratory gameplay.

This official launch is not the conclusion of development for either feature. As core foundational gameplay loops of our game, both systems will receive sustained long-term iterations, including brand-new content expansions and continuous fine-tuning for an improved player experience.

Key Update Highlights

Free Play Mode

This gameplay mode comes without a main storyline. At the start of a new playthrough, players spend allocation points to pick different traits and fully customize their protagonist’s initial stats. All traits are divided into six functional categories: Attributes, Fortune, Origin Background, Innate Talent, Treasures, and Heavenly Dao, amounting to 81 distinct traits in total.

Difficulty Settings

Four difficulty tiers are available: Casual, Normal, Hardcore and Immortal, each featuring unique gameplay rules.

  • Casual DifficultyEnemies are weaker in combat stats. Materials and Realm progression rewards from battles are boosted, and playable cards remain available for an extended duration before expiring.
  • Normal Difficulty : Balanced enemy stats overall, designed for players with basic familiarity of game mechanics.

  • Hardcore Difficulty : Enemies boast elevated stats; Spirit Stone gains are restricted, and cards expire much faster.

  • Immortal Difficulty : Further inflated enemy stats and heightened survival pressure. This difficulty can only be selected under Focus Mode.

Revamped Random Adventure System

Random encounters trigger while soaring via Sword Flight, including secret realms, resource nodes, and card-based events featuring NPCs, crafting materials, or savage beasts.

Events fall into two categories: friendly optional encounters and hostile encounters. Players trigger any event simply by colliding with its corresponding icon mid-flight.

  2. Dozens of brand-new loading screen illustrations have been added.

  3. Inventory sorting optimization: press the E key to automatically synthesize Cultivation XP, Spirit Stones and Reputation.

  4. Introduced the Innate Unique Skill gameplay system.

  5. After unlocking any ending in Story Mode, players may claim the magic treasure Riverhill Brush from Lu Yichen.

  6. New save recovery function: if save files get corrupted due to external factors such as power outages or false deletion by antivirus software, players can manually restore to the latest valid save from the main menu.

  7. Vessel Treasures adjustmentConsumption cost for Spirit Tamer is changed to Beast Mastery resource; consumption cost for Soul Harvester is switched to Soul Summon (a hidden stat with a fixed cost value of 1 point).
  8. New Nascent Soul tier content: Players can cultivate Nascent Soul Cultivation Arts, upgrade card Realm to Nascent Soul, and improve the quality of all Nascent Soul-tier cards.

The above is a summary of core update contents.

All upcoming brand-new Nascent Soul-related content will follow our existing testing schedule. New features will first be rolled out to the Beta branch for playtesting. After gathering feedback from fellow cultivators and refining stability, these contents will be officially implemented into the live build.

We are truly grateful for all fellow cultivators’ in-game feedback, suggestions and patience along the way. We will keep polishing the game with dedication to live up to your expectations.

Notes

Due to numerous iterative updates between the main live build and Beta build, some extremely outdated save files may become incompatible, resulting in failed loading or black screens upon launching the game.

To resolve this issue, delete old save data: Copy the file path below and paste it into your File Explorer address bar (do not use the search bar) : [c]%APPDATA%\\..\\LocalLow\\DarkIndex\\CardCultivation[/c]

Then delete all save files located inside the SaveRecord folder.

Should the problem persist after deleting saves, join our official player community group and contact the group administrator for further assistance.
