fixed2- The Freeze Is Fixed β€” Big Stability Update (and an apology)
addedWhen your reports started pouring in, I realized the problem wasn't just a few bugs. Some of the game's core structure was built wrong from day one, and that was the real source of the stuttering, the lag, and the infamous freeze. Patching over it wasn't going to cut it, so I tore it out and rebuilt it properly. That's what ate the extra days. The good news: the game finally runs smooth as butter, and Steam Deck support now has a real foundation under it instead of duct tape.
fixed*What's fixed in this update:**
fixed*The freeze.** The bug that locked the game when closing the tablet or certain menus is fixed at the root. - **A safety net, just in case.** I also added an automatic recovery system. If the game ever gets stuck in a frozen state again, it detects it and unfreezes itself within seconds instead of locking up forever β€” and it logs what happened so I can hunt down the cause. - **The empty forest.** Trees, rocks, enemies and forageables spawn correctly again. If your save was hit by this at launch, it will repair itself the next time you load it. No new game needed. - **Farming:** crops no longer vanish overnight, and the tiles that refused seeds now accept them. - **Tree chopping** no longer freezes or glitches. - **Animals:** I rewrote the production logic. If your animal is an adult and there's hay in the silo for the day, products now go straight into the coop's storage chest instead of dropping on the floor. - **Main story:** fixed the quest triggers that were blocking progression. - **Controller & Steam Deck:** full gamepad navigation in mini-games and shops, plus on-screen keyboard support. - **Co-op:** the world no longer freezes for your partner while you two explore different areas. - **The town** got some trees so it feels a bit more alive. A proper landscaping rework is coming in a future update. - Plus dozens of invisible background errors cleaned up for better performance.
addedWith the foundation finally solid, all my energy goes into Item #1 on the roadmap: new caravan types, interior decoration, guest requests, tool upgrades... and eventually setting sail. This is the part I've been excited about for months.
addedIf this patch breaks anything new, I sincerely apologize in advance β€” tell me in the discussions or on my socials, ideally with your log file (`%APPDATA%/Godot/app_userdata/Caravan Village- Farming Life/logs/godot.log`). I read everything, and hotfixes are my top priority this week.

2- The Freeze Is Fixed β€” Big Stability Update (and an apology)

Hey everyone,

I'm late. I promised this update by the weekend and it took me almost a week longer. I'm genuinely embarrassed about missing my own deadline, so before anything else: I'm sorry for keeping you waiting.

I also want to be straight with you about the launch. A lot of you refunded the game β€” roughly one in four β€” and honestly, you were right to. Between the freeze and everything else, what I shipped felt more like a demo than an Early Access game. This is my first game, I'm still learning, and the messy launch is on me and nobody else.

To everyone who refunded

I get it, and I'm sorry I let you down.

To everyone who stayed and trusted me

thank you, from the bottom of my heart. You're the reason I've barely left my desk since launch day.

**So what took so long?**

When your reports started pouring in, I realized the problem wasn't just a few bugs.

**What's fixed in this update:**

  • **The freeze.** The bug that locked the game when closing the tablet or certain menus is fixed at the root. A proper landscaping rework is coming in a future update. - Plus dozens of invisible background errors cleaned up for better performance.

**If you refunded β€” no hard feelings.** But the game you left is not the game that's live right now. Steam lets you repurchase a refunded game, and if you ever decide to give it another shot, I'd be honored.

**What's next?**

With the foundation finally solid, all my energy goes into Item #1 on the roadmap: new caravan types, interior decoration, guest requests, tool upgrades... and eventually setting sail. This is the part I've been excited about for months.

If this patch breaks anything new, I sincerely apologize in advance β€” tell me in the discussions or on my socials, ideally with your log file (`%APPDATA%/Godot/app_userdata/Caravan Village- Farming Life/logs/godot.log`). I read everything, and hotfixes are my top priority this week.

Thank you for giving me a chance despite my mistakes. Have fun out there! πŸšœπŸ’›
