changedGreetings, everyone! Two tiny updates in a row — highly uncharacteristic for our graphomaniac studio of graphomaniacs. But here we are. Today is a pretty important day for Canyons, because we can finally share the first gameplay footage of the game. 15 minutes of pure gameplay, recorded in a single take, with no cuts and no Photoshop magic. Tadaaa:
changedNow, a few words about the video. This is the very first playable iteration of the project. It’s hard to even call it a pre-alpha or anything like that — this is literal prototype testing, and only of one of the core gameplay loops. (The second major pillar of the game is settlement progression, which is not shown in the video at all.) There’s still a lot we want to improve. Tons of work ahead on the combat system (enemy AI and combat mechanics themselves), effects, UI, crawler mechanics, interactions with NPCs and party members — basically, everything under the sun. That said, even now you can already draw some conclusions and get a rough idea of what the project actually is. (Yes — this is not a pony-themed Tetris clone, and not asphalt ski racing.)
addedAnd don’t forget to add Canyons to your wishlist every minute!
addedIf everyone added Canyons to their wishlist, we would be sooooooo happy.

We’re really looking forward to your comments — any thoughts, ideas, wild theories, wishes, criticism of what you’ve seen, or just general feedback. There are a lot of you, and you’re smart. Seeing the project from many different angles will help us shamelessly steal your ideas up to our very nostrils, so the final game ends up truly worthy.
That’s how things are.
