Release Date!
It’s Steam Next Fest, which means that over here (in my apartment) it’s time to celebrate!
The days tick by and my deadline to release BYTE draws closer but luckily I’m right on track.
To kick off Steam Next Fest I’m thrilled to announce that the official release date for BYTE will be October 1st, 2025!
Believe it or not, I’ve been targeting an October 6th release day for about a year and a half at this point, but development of BYTE is so on track that I decided to move it up a few days so I can start Halloween month with a bang.
The first five weeks of BYTE are all that have been publicly available from the game for somewhere in the ballpark of 19 months at this point, so suffice it to say that I am beyond excited to finally show the world the rest of this game.
Despite showing everyone these first five weeks, I truly believe that BYTE only gets better as the days roll on, so wishlist the game now and stay tuned for that final release on October 1st!
Next Fest (and FMV)!
As I mentioned, BYTE is in Steam Next Fest right now, which also means that a new demo is available.
The demo contains the same five weeks and core content as the previous version, but to coincide with this announcement, I just pushed a minor update to the demo that adds in some full-motion video that I recorded recently.
I use the FMV to add more flavor into the diorama scenes that I added in the previous update and to replace the cutscenes that were currently still images (just the intro scene in the demo).
The video was all shot on location in various parts of Oregon (mostly Portland), so rest-assured, you’re getting an authentic Oregonian experience :).
Aside from that, some other minor changes have been implemented including a redesign of some of the battle arenas and general bug fixes.
Stay tuned for more updates on BYTE and happy Next Fest!
