If you'd like to participate

Go to the Steam Library and right click on the game. Then go to [c]Properties > Game Versions & Betas.[/c]

At the bottom under Private Versions enter [c]busterBreaksBeta[/c] and hit check code. Then you'll be able to switch between the Beta branch and the public branch.

Details of all the Beta changes are below.

New Ball Upgrades

  • Added Greed Ball

New Features

  • Added the Vending Machine, where items can be bought, selected, saved, and used during a run. This replaces the wheel.

  • Added upgrade slot expansion, with runs starting at 3 slots and expanding up to 6.

  • Upgrades can now be leveled up to level 6.

  • Added progress indicators for upgrades and contraband that build toward an effect.

  • Added a player survey link to the main menu. Please give feedback!

Ball Balance

  • Reduced default ball speed by about 10%.

  • Reworked every Contraband ball, rebalancing and adding negative effects for each.

Gameplay Adjustments

  • Adjusted base target scores.

  • Reduced chained goal rewards from +3 gold per chain step to +1 gold per chain step.

  • Increased shop size from 4 to 5.

  • Increased likelihood of rolling already-owned upgrades.

  • Reduced upgrade base prices from 5/7/10 to 4/6/8.

  • Reduced upgrade level price increases from repeating the base price to +1/+2/+3 per level.

UI/UX

  • Added clearer selected, sold, buy, next, locked, and unlock states in the shop.

  • Added visible security level badges and meters in character select.

  • Added scanline styling and refreshed shop, upgrade, level-up, character select, Ballpedia, and item machine layouts.

  • Added new level-change previews to upgrade descriptions.
