Repeated intro
Hello, folks! We’re back with another update for you all.
Extracted changes
- Gameplay
- Store
- UI and audio
This update is both a large and -not large- one. We undertook a major engine upgrade on our end, which is always a risky endeavor for a small team but will help position us to add more in the future. The flip side of that means that if we did our job right then you all shouldn’t notice anything different there… at least yet. So… surprise! Here’s a big update that you don’t care about (sorry for the larger download this time around).
That said, we did also add a few additional treats that are a bit more tangible for you all as well.
The Collection System
First, we’ve got a new type of item to go find scattered throughout the heists; Collectibles! These new items only appear a single time in all the heists (unless we messed something up) and you can show them off in your HQ once you burgle them. You can see how pretty they look below!
Every mission should have one… and we’ll continue to add more dinner plates to that shelf… the more heists we add. Also, we may… reconsider dinner plates as a display base there in the future.. (hooray for Early Access!)
New Valentine’s Day Theme
All the stores around us started stocking Valentine’s Day stuff on January 2. That was offensively early. We, on the other hand, waited until January 29th to release this HQ themed upgrade, which is a much more proper date to begin thinking about the holiday. Now you, like me, can unlock the Valentine Day HQ theme and sit and contemplate about how now there’s only two weeks left to think of gift ideas, and how you are in trouble.
Other Stuff
And, of course, we’ve got the usual new assortment of eyes and masks, etc. Here are some of them below!
We’ve also got a new credits menu, fixes to weird lights that have been vanishing in the HQ, odd geometry in a couple of heists, fixes to the options menu saving, improvements to the Voice Chat falloff, fixed a few issues with throwing, added actual falloff to landmines to they don’t instakill you, and a lot of continued balancing on tags. We’ve also made a lot of great progress on a new mob and new heist that we can't wait to share with you… but that will be next month!
Hope you all are enjoying the winter! If you have been enjoying Good Boy, please come hang out in our community discord at discord.terribleposture.com.
Until then, you, you all are my Valentines, dear players, <3 - Creative Director, Joe <3
