removedHi, @everyone , I want to ask you all something honestly and get your real thoughts on it. Over time, I’ve realized that a lot of people find the physics-based interaction system awkward, frustrating, or simply difficult to play with. Looking back, I probably should’ve validated this idea much earlier in development instead of fully committing to it first. Since I didn’t, many of the criticisms people have now are completely understandable. Because of that, I’ve been seriously thinking about removing the physics-based interaction system entirely and transitioning to a more classic/static interaction system instead. There are a few more reasons for this:
changedSome gameplay events become extremely difficult to make with full physics interactions. For example: imagine making pizza and trying to place tiny cheese pieces using physics. It quickly becomes frustrating instead of immersive.
changedA static interaction system would make the gameplay more responsive and consistent overall.

Hi, @everyone, I want to ask you all something honestly and get your real thoughts on it.

  • Some gameplay events become extremely difficult to make with full physics interactions. For example: imagine making pizza and trying to place tiny cheese pieces using physics. It quickly becomes frustrating instead of immersive.

  • A static interaction system would make the gameplay more responsive and consistent overall.

  • Multiplayer development would become MUCH easier and significantly less bug-prone with a static system.

So I want to ask: How would you feel about this change? Would you prefer static interaction system over the current physics one, even if it changes the feel of the game a bit?
