Quality of Life Update: Post-Game Boss.

Hello! We have released an update giving a similar pass to the Post-Game boss as we did the final boss. The changes are listed below. Attacking the small eyes now deals 0.5 damage per hit up to a certain point.

changedAttacking the small eyes now deals 0.5 damage per hit up to a certain point. After this point, you must attack the big eye to damage him further. This allows you to do chip damage even if you fail to close all eyes before one opens back up.

removedSlightly adjusted the damage needed to trigger Phases 2 and 3. You can no longer skip phases due to overkill.

  • The spike wheel attack has been significantly altered. The spike wheels come out slower, move less fast, and bounce less times.

  • Added warning indicators that signal which side certain attacks will come from. This applies to the eye tentacles, spike wheels, and tooth bullets.

  • Increased spawn rate of hearts during the boss battle.

  • Spike targets now are able to appear below the player. This was intended, but not functional previously.

  • Up to a maximum of 5 spike targets can appear under the player, at which point further spikes appear at random spots like before.

  • Eyes are now immune to damage during phase transitions.

  • Decreased the amount of hits needed to dispel thorns.

  • Text appears when first encountering the thorns attack, informing the player that they can attack the thorns to remove them.

  • Ink blindness attack is now partially transparent from the beginning.

  • Tooth bullets move slower in all phases.

  • Void blasts now are more visible for longer before they expand to full size, allowing players to spot the attack more easily and avoid them.

  • Slightly increased reaction window for phase three bite attacks and mouth cannon attacks.

  • Added a brief pause to the glitch hand attack before they start moving.

  • Slightly increased downtime between attacks, allowing you more time to attack the eyes before getting interrupted.

  • Added text in the boss intro informing you to attack the eyes. This text does not reappear after the first time you fight the boss.

  • Fixed a glitch that caused the small eyes to not close fully, becoming dislodged from the socket until the next time the eyes close or open.

  • Fixed an error that would sometimes crash the game during the boss (I think? Let me know if any of you encounter this problem again.)
