Bronzebeard's Tavern 2 changes
Patch Notes
New Mechanics
Restocking
The restocker is now part of the core of Bronzebeard's Tavern 2! Simply interact to send them out and restock all storage in your tavern! As a result, your tavern's stock is no longer infinite.
They do not run infinitely! They have a limited amount of stamina per day, the lower it is the slower they move. Pro tip: you can give them a slap to "boost" their productivity...
Available upgrades: Stamina Loss, Movement Speed, Sprinting Speed
Developer notes: In a future patch, we plan to have many traits upgradable including movement speed, health, passive regen rate, etc...
Level Completion, Gating and Star System!
Levels now unlock in order, along with a save system.
You can now also earn between 1-3 stars per level. In this testing phase- it is not clearly communicated yet but we wanted to better test how the flow of campaign feels.
1 star - complete the level.
2 star - earn at least $300
3 star - do not miss a single customer
Please share these over discord, we want to see how hard they are to accomplish so we can adjust accordingly!
Thieves
Thieves now periodically enter the tavern and try to steal your stock! You must deal with them by slapping them before they can get away!
Difficulty
Added the ability to change your difficulty (Easy, Normal, Hard, Insane). The following stats are adjusted accordingly, based on selected difficulty:
Patience - Drain Rate
Hearth - Drain Rate
Stock - Max Storage
Mentor Lifeline - Charge Rate
Upgrades - Cost
Thieves - Health
Thieves - Despawn Time
Tip and Life Drops
When customers are happy, they have a chance of dropping tips or lives! Tips are just direct money into your tavern bank, while life drops restore tavern lives.
Customers
Universal - Customers can now sit with each other!
Universal - Fixed a bug where customers did not choose the closest seat available when thrown.
Universal - Happiness Rating. All customers now score a happiness score between 1 and 3. Happiness affects spawn rate of tips and lives.
Universal - Customers no longer immediately leave when served incorrectly. Rather, they lose a flat percentage of patience.
Universal (Renowned Customers) - All renowned customers now trigger the event camera when entering their positive state.
Normal Goblins - Can now spawn as a female variant.
Developer notes: Multiple customers can now sit in one table, aimed towards less lines and more chaotic interactions and better play-making when manually seating them.
Gobbler - Positive effect changed to buff 3 tables (from: 1).
Gobbler - Positive effect improved visuals.
Gobbler - Fixed a bug with the positive effect that prevented customers from sitting on buffed tables when thrown to them.
Gobbler - Fixed a bug that allowed the player to clean up the gobbler table immediately after him breaking it. Resulting in him repeatedly breaking the same table.
Gobbler - Now enters combat mode after breaking his first table. Deplete his life bar to end his negative effect earlier!
Gobbler - Now disables the table for a period of time, preventing instant cleaning.
Gobbler - Fixed a bug that didn't grant customers with infinite patience when they sit on it after application.
Developer notes: The Gobbler felt the weakest (yet also too punishing) out of all the Renowned Customers so we wanted to give him the love he deserves! The positive effect is aimed to give greater effect overall and as well as that, to prevent instant game-overs there is now counterplay to his negative!
Frog Rider - Updated range visual effect to be less intrusive.
Frog Rider - Added pulse when they eat to communicate range coverage more effectively.
Frog Rider - Now has an alternate walk cycle when they are angry.
Frog Rider - No longer teleports to a location during their negative effect. Rather- periodically chooses a spot to block and walks to it.
Frog Rider - Fixed bug where they would stand still during their positive effect rather than move to a section.
Frog Rider - Added animation when entering positive state.
Frog Rider - Adjusted positive effect to now prioritize locations that have customers.
Frog Rider - Now has a passive eat-cooldown of 5 seconds. This was done to 1) Prevent players from spamming food at the frog and making service too easy and 2) Lighten the restriction that the frog had when blocking sections of the tavern.
Developer notes: The Frog Rider is the hardest renowned out of the three to master effectively. We hope some of these changes help players to understand their mechanic better!
Tinkerer - Passive now no longer throws bombs while during their negative state.
Tinkerer - No longer teleports during the negative effect, rather runs towards each target.
Tinkerer - Bombs now knock back players, customers, entities and items.
Tinkerer - Big Bombs (from negative effect) now explode items off of countertops.
Tinkerer - Bombs now visually apply "soot" on customers and its surroundings.
Developer notes: We love the tinkerer, but we feel like he wasn't chaotic enough (don't ask us why...). So we want his bombs to feel even funnier!
Cooking
Stoves - Removed flipping mechanic, now uses one bar that determines cooking & burning.
Stoves - Added mini-bellows. When stepping on them it adds flat progress towards cooking (originally: Fan the Flames upgrade).
Stoves - Added valve-toggle. You can now toggle a stove on / off!
Stoves - Reworked upgrades to new tiers and station.
Developer notes: We're continuing to iterate on cooking, players felt this iteration of cooking was one step too complicated so we wanted to make its base more approachable. The additional mechanics (mini-bellows and valve) are intended as upgrade paths that the player can take in the future but for now we're just throwing them in to see what you guys think!
Drinks - Updated the appearance of all drinks.
Drinks - Updated appearance of the main keg.
Drinks - Removed "Mead" base and replaced it with a topping.
Developer notes: We're looking to simplify drinks, making them more intuitive on the first go.
