the new 0.7.2 Alpha update for Broken Crown is now available.
This release focuses on improving the first-time player experience, making the interface clearer, refining unit and worker behavior, and adding several quality-of-life improvements across the game.
Tutorial Improvements
A dedicated tutorial scene has been added and expanded with several guided steps to help new players understand the core RTS mechanics.
The tutorial now covers:
Camera movement
Camera zoom
Troop movement
Basic combat
Worker actions
Unit recruitment
Building construction
Farm construction
Library construction
Tier 2 research
Tier 2 recruitment
This should make the early experience clearer and more accessible for new players.
Tooltips and Information Clarity
Several tooltip improvements have been added to make units, buildings and tactical choices easier to understand.
Added base tooltips for units
Added base tooltips for buildings
Improved general tooltip readability
Added descriptions for strong/weak unit matchups
Added better tactical information for unit roles and counters
These changes help players better understand what each unit and building does, what it costs, and how it fits into the overall strategy.
Controls and Pause Menu
Controls have received several quality-of-life improvements.
ESC now opens the pause menu
Camera can now be moved by holding the mouse wheel
Fixed an issue where reaching maximum zoom could incorrectly move the camera
Improved camera bounds handling to allow better visibility near map edges
These changes make camera control smoother and improve overall navigation during matches.
Worker and Economy Improvements
Worker behavior has been refined to make manual resource control more reliable.
Workers can now be assigned a preferred resource
Manual gathering orders are no longer overwritten by nearby resources
Fixed farm construction command issues
Improved worker interaction with resource gathering
This gives players more control over their economy and makes worker behavior more predictable.
Unit Balance and Selection Fixes
Several improvements have been made to combat balance and unit selection.
Added “strong against” unit balance logic
Added clearer strong/weak unit descriptions
Fixed leader single selection
Fixed King life, defense and attack values
These changes improve tactical clarity and make key units behave more consistently.
Achievements
16 new achievements have been added.
These achievements support progression tracking and give players more goals while playing through campaign, skirmish and survival content.
