Broken Crown changes
Today is a very special day for me: Broken Crown officially enters Early Access.
This project was born from my passion for classic RTS games. As a player, I've always loved games that allow you to start with a small group of people and gradually transform it into a thriving kingdom, building an economy, developing an army, and conquering the battlefield through strategy and planning.
Broken Crown was created during my spare time. Every free moment became an opportunity to add a new feature, fix a problem, improve a mechanic, or develop a new mission. What started as a simple prototype gradually grew, update after update, into the game that today enters Early Access.
After months of development, testing, improvements, and continuous gameplay refinement, the time has finally come to share this experience with all of you.
Broken Crown is a fantasy real-time strategy game created for players who miss the depth, scale, and tactical control of the great RTS classics.
The goal is simple: build your settlement, gather resources, develop new technologies, train an army, protect your people, and fight for control of the battlefield.
The Early Access version already includes:
Base building and settlement management • Resource gathering and economic management • Multiple unit types, including workers, infantry, archers, cavalry, scouts, and support units • Formation system and tactical army control • Visual troop progression through multiple upgrade tiers • Research and technology upgrades • Fog of War and map exploration • Campaign missions • Skirmish maps • Survival / Endless mode • Walls, gates, and defensive structures • Important event notification system • Save and load functionality • Steam achievements • Multi-language support
But this is not the final destination.
For me, Early Access represents only the first step of a much larger journey. There are still many features to add, content to create, and improvements I want to bring to the game.
During Early Access, development will focus on unit balance, AI improvements, combat readability, user interface improvements, performance optimization, campaign expansion, and the addition of new maps and gameplay content.
As an independent developer, resources are limited. Because of that, I chose to focus first on what matters most: gameplay. My goal is to create an RTS that is fun, deep, and capable of delivering the same feeling of growth, management, and conquest that made me fall in love with the genre.
And this is where you come in.
Your feedback, suggestions, criticism, and enthusiasm will play a crucial role in shaping the future of Broken Crown. I hope that, battle after battle, you will feel like part of this adventure just as much as I do.
To everyone who played the demo, added the game to their wishlist, shared feedback, or simply followed its development until today: thank you.
The game launches with a temporary release discount as a thank-you to the early players who choose to join this journey from the very beginning.
If you love classic RTS games, base building, large-scale fantasy battles, and the idea of following an indie strategy game as it grows, I hope Broken Crown will earn your time.
This is only the beginning.
The crown is broken.
Humanity must rise again.
