addedHey everyone, new update just went live! This one introduce lots of new mechanics.
addedFirst a new Hero of course: The Engineer , I already mentionned that this one was inspired by feedback from the community. Some people mentionned how it would be fun to increase the feeling of power the players get, and some also mentionned that they would like a more casual game mode.
changedThe Engineer is the incarnation of that: He is specialized in destroying bricks , tons of bricks. But to compensate that his damage output is lowered , and many effects that are triggered by brick destructions are nerfed on him (like the Bottled Rainbow for exemple). His gameplay is way simpler than the other heroes you can unlock. He starts with a weak turret on his paddle and throughout each fights he gets the opportunity to upgrade it . There's 4 different upgrades each with 3 upgrade levels. Every 6 seconds you get to choose between 2 possible upgrades . So you will still have some important choices to make, but the hero is way less punitive than what the Elementalist or the Shade can be. An upgraded turret will have a chance to trigger special attacks when its firing (it's not actually random, it counts the number of shots and trigger an effect every X shots depending on the upgrade) He also has a shield upgrade, that blocks projectiles and transform them into healing. So he get a bit of sustain out of that :)
addedSecondly: New Challenges . There's now 11 challenges to complete, each with a new relic to unlock as a reward (or extra rerolls). The first time you complete a challenge you will instantly receive its relic reward for your run, and the relic will have a chance to appear in all future runs. Challenges also save the highest StormLevel in which they were completed, so good luck completing them all on Storm15. (I personally wasn't yet able to beat the game with only one upgrade on Storm15. Don't hesitate to send a video if you make it! ^^) This is a great way to add additional objectives. And I plan to keeping adding some more in the future.
addedWith the number of available relics increasing, I felt it was important to not dilute the pool too much, so the players now get an option to Reroll Relics , once per run at first, but completing some challenges will incrase this number. This is to make sure you can still get the relics you want for the build of your dreams, even with more and more relics being added to the game.
addedWhat's next for the future: I have ideas for new heroes, new relics and new challenges of course, even maybe new bricks. So yeah, you can expect some more content to be added. But all these ideas are only at the concept stage so it might take quite a bit of time. I will only add new heroes if I have a solid design and the concepts I have in mind right now aren't solid enough yet ^^ Some players also mentionned they'd like longer runs. I'll keep that in mind, I might have some ideas. I'm not sure if adding an extra zone is the best solution (although I'd love a desert themed area), because I feel like the current 30-45minute per run is a pretty good spot. But let me know what you think about that specific point. I'm very interested. I'm easy to reach on Discord and Twitter , and I love receiving all your feedback!
