Breach the Abyss changes
Today, we finally get to show you Version 4.0, Overload!
Firstly, you can watch the trailer here!
Why is the update called Overload, you ask? Well, to put it simply... there is a LOT of stuff in this one!
This update will introduce 35 new upgrades, new core features, a new class, and more!
Before digging into the details, let's share an important detail regarding this update. We have decided to lock many of the previous post-launch additions behind unlock conditions. this is to make sure the new player experience remains properly balanced! Worry not, however! If your save file was made before version 4.0, you will be automatically granted these unlocks!
Alright! Time for new stuff. Let's take it one at a time.
35 New Upgrades
This update introduces 35 brand new upgrades, bringing the game's total to over 100! It's crazy that we ended up hitting this number.
A big part of this is the new set- Antimatter! This is a unique upgrade set that inflicts a new status called Tick. Ticked enemies get annihilated after a set period of time, triggering a variety of really cool effects!
The objective with this set was to enable a different style of play, making it necessary to keep certain enemies alive in order to make the most of the ability. We hope everyone finds this set fresh and fun!
New Features
We've introduced 2 new core features to the gameplay: Shop, and Barters!
- Shop
The shop is a new machine found in normal runs. Use your energy to buy extra upgrades, heals, and brand new boosters, which are temporary positive effects that last for 1 wave!
- Barters
A mysterious new feature has appeared: Barters!
There's a chance that, after completing a wave, you may be offered a deal... you may benefit, but not without a cost...
New Class
We've introduced a brand new class- the Joker! This unique class is completely randomized.
Stats, fire type, starting upgrades... it'll be different every time! We hope you enjoy the randomized chaos of this new class.
...And More!
There's even more additions, so take a look at the patch notes below!
Thank you very much for playing Breach the Abyss! This will be our last major update for the forseeable future. The team is moving on to other projects, so we hope you will look forward to those...!
Thanks for all the support! We hope everyone has fun.
Until next time!
