addedBut now to something completely more interesting. What is new in this update? The main feature is the board goals that the higher-ups will present to you at the start of each season.
addedYou can negotiate those, offer to do more, or manage expectations. Making a goal easier will need some skill and will not be rewarded as much, of course. Your current goals and their status will be visible using the new "todo" sticker in the overview screen.
changedAt the end of the season, the board will invite you to a review of the goals. In the future, some goals may also be more short-term, meaning you will have only ten weeks to fulfill one of them. There are seven types of goals right now, covering education, placement, buying players, and more. More to come in the future. The balancing might change as well, so the effects on money and board mood will probably be adapted.
changedIf a goal stresses you out too much, or you don't like this element of the game at all, you can deactivate the goals in the settings. You can do so any time, even one week before the review starts, just in case you won't be able to fulfill them and fear for your job ;) Although it is not very honorable :P) The goals won't disappear - if you activate them again in the settings, you can continue to pursue them in the next season.
addedHere you can see another setting as well: you can use your own list of player names that will be used to generate players. If you find the standard names to contain too few English names, for example, or you want to use certain full names, you can use this feature. Using the button next to the dropdown, you will be led to the location where you can put your name files (there can be more than one). An example file is already in place that you can edit further. Adding workshop support for those later is a possibility. (Thanks to Imhotep for the idea)
addedIn the settings, you will also find a new, clean font, in case the pixel font puts too much strain on your eyes.

Hi everyone,

It has been a long time since the last update - my apologies for that! The past few weeks were full of turmoil, but I don't want to mention this as an excuse, but to assure you: Boeckham is still in my focus and is still in active development.

But now to something completely more interesting. What is new in this update? The main feature is the board goals that the higher-ups will present to you at the start of each season.

You can negotiate those, offer to do more, or manage expectations. Making a goal easier will need some skill and will not be rewarded as much, of course. Your current goals and their status will be visible using the new "todo" sticker in the overview screen.

At the end of the season, the board will invite you to a review of the goals. In the future, some goals may also be more short-term, meaning you will have only ten weeks to fulfill one of them. There are seven types of goals right now, covering education, placement, buying players, and more. More to come in the future. The balancing might change as well, so the effects on money and board mood will probably be adapted.

If a goal stresses you out too much, or you don't like this element of the game at all, you can deactivate the goals in the settings. You can do so any time, even one week before the review starts, just in case you won't be able to fulfill them and fear for your job ;) Although it is not very honorable :P) The goals won't disappear - if you activate them again in the settings, you can continue to pursue them in the next season.

In the settings, you will also find a new, clean font, in case the pixel font puts too much strain on your eyes.

Not all texts will be adjusted, the printer font on the "printed" pages will stay the same, because it fits best. But please tell me what you think, I don't have a "best" solution for that. (Thanks to Angelo for the idea)

Players also received a new extension: now, the goals per season (compared to all-time goals before) and the played matches will be tracked. You can also see the resulting ratio of goals per match in the player details. (Thanks to Rexo and Angelo for the ideas)

For the future, I want to historize this data, so you can see the development over the seasons. Maybe even in which club and which competition the goals were scored. A scorer list for the current season was added as well.

Please be aware that the data can't be calculated for past events, meaning it won't be accurate for the current season. Played matches and scored goals will increment from "now on". The all-time matches won't be correct for that matter in an older savegame, and the goals per season will only be correct when you start the next season.

A small new feature was also put into the player search. You can now search by name. So if a promising youth player is mentioned in an event... you know what to do with his name :-) (Thanks to Dimson for the idea)

There were also some small fixes and adjustments in the simulation, e.g. the away goals in Master League matches are now calculated according to official rules.

That was the essence of this update. For the next one, I will focus on the events and narratives because I think they are a strength of the game, or at least they CAN be. Right now, they are too repetitive, and there are too few variations. If you have any ideas or wishes for events you want to see in the game, please let me know!

But now have fun playing and fulfilling the new goals! :)
