changedWe call the language Lomish , largely because so many early phrases sounded something like: Lomi tomi patomi! - cute, safe, unoffensive. Not our style :) The fun part begins when guests become suspicious or panicked. This is when the language becomes much harsher. Suddenly you're hearing things like:

One of the boldest decisions we made during development was to create an entirely original spoken language for Bloody Hell Hotel.

Why?

Because Bloody Hell Hotel is a long game. Guests talk. A lot.

If every guest repeated the same handful of English lines over dozens of hours, you'd eventually start noticing the repetition. Instead, we wanted conversations that stay emotionally expressive without becoming distracting.

You might not understand a single word...

...but you'll know exactly when someone is excited, annoyed, terrified, or moments away from becoming dinner.

We call the language Lomish, largely because so many early phrases sounded something like: Lomi tomi patomi! - cute, safe, unoffensive. Not our style :) The fun part begins when guests become suspicious or panicked. This is when the language becomes much harsher. Suddenly you're hearing things like:

"SHTORA!"

"BROTA SHPROTA!"

"MORTA KROVI!"

"VAMPYYRRR!"

Lots of rolled R s.

Lomish wasn't something we locked ourselves in a room to invent. Over the past months, our community has helped shape lots of words, sounds, expressions, greetings, and ridiculous little phrases. Some suggestions were too good not to include, and a surprising number made their way straight into the final game.

So if you ever hear a guest enthusiastically shouting something that's deliciously ridiculous...

...there's a decent chance one of you is responsible :)

A huge thank you to everyone who contributed ideas along the way. You helped turn a bold experiment into one of our favorite parts of the game.

The softer, everyday speech has a slight Latin flavor, while moments of fear and danger become much more influenced by the harsher consonants and rolled "R"s commonly associated with parts of Central and Eastern Europe.

That combination felt right for a world inspired by classic vampire folklore. Medieval Latin was widely used across regions such as the Kingdom of Hungary, while local spoken languages gave the region its own distinctive sound. Lomish borrows a little atmosphere from both without actually becoming either.

And yes...

...we absolutely couldn't resist sneaking in the occasional recognizable word from English and a few other languages.

The result is thousands of lines of recorded dialogue, and we honestly can't wait for you to hear it all come to life.

FUN FACT: We just couldn't resist. Hidden among thousands of lines are a few that are extremely unlikely to ever be heard during a normal playthrough. But some of you will find them. And when you do... ...you'd better be recording, because nobody will believe what just came out of your guest's mouth.

Let's be honest...The current capsule art wasn't exactly winning any beauty contests. Here's a work-in-progress of the new cover art. It's still missing plenty of polish, lighting, and final details, but it's getting there.

Bloody Hell Hotel has evolved so much since the announcement that we simply needed something that reflects where the game is now - both in terms of tone and quality.

The next few months are going to be exciting.

A combat update is coming soon. We're also aiming to release our long-awaited gameplay trailer at the end of October. We've been saving up quite a bit to show you.

We know many of you have been patiently waiting for a release date. We're just as eager to share it. For full transparency, here's what's going on behind the scenes. As we've been showing Bloody Hell Hotel to more partners and industry professionals, one piece of feedback kept coming up: the game feels closer to v1.0 than a typical Early Access title. That prompted us to take another careful look at whether Early Access is still the right way to introduce the game.

There are still a few moving pieces outside our control before we can finalize that decision, but we'll keep you updated every step of the way. We expect to have everything settled before we release the October trailer.

As always, thank you all for your support and a big thank you to those who helped shaped the sound of the language!
