Bloody Hell Hotel changes
Happy Halloween! As of today, development on Bloody Hell Hotel is right on track, and we’re still aiming to launch in 2026. The game is shaping up beautifully, and we’ll narrow down the release window as we get closer.
Now, let’s talk about something near and dear to every vampire’s heart...
Coffins play a key role in managing the two main player stats: Blood and HP.
Blood slowly decreases throughout the day - when it runs out, you lose access to your vampiric powers until it’s replenished, though you don’t die. These powers don’t consume blood directly - we want you to have fun, so if you want to spam your superpowers like there's no tomorrow, go for it! Just keep in mind that low blood levels make their cooldowns longer.
HP, on the other hand, is lost in combat. When it hits zero, you end up in your coffin. As an immortal, death isn’t fatal, but it costs time - and that can mean unhappy guests who leave without paying. While recovering HP in your coffin, you’re unconscious. That makes you vulnerable to thieves who might steal some of your coins or supplies. Any loot gathered in dungeons is lost, too, so as you see, dying is not fun.
Fortunately, sleeping in your coffin restores HP, slows the loss of Blood, and can counteract all of these inconveniences - and more!
Inscriptions are magical runes that can be purchased from the Vampiric Council and installed into special slots along the sides of your coffin. Each inscription provides a unique passive effect upon awakening, offering bonuses that range from practical benefits to risky trade-offs. Every coffin can hold up to four inscriptions, and they can be swapped once per day, allowing you to adjust your setup to match your preferred playstyle or the challenges ahead.
All inscriptions are compatible with every coffin type. We’re also considering adding one unique inscription that comes bundled with each coffin. Below is the list of general inscriptions that can be purchased from the Vampiric Council.
| Steam post image | Warding Etched with protective runes, this inscription reduces the chance of thieves sneaking into your crypt to steal your hard-earned coins. |
| Steam post image | Reprisal A favorite among vengeful vampires - if a thief dares disturb your slumber, this inscription ensures they become your midnight snack instead. |
| Steam post image | Repose A soothing sigil that enhances restfulness, allowing your body to recover health faster while you sleep. |
| Steam post image | Night Snack This inscription guarantees that even during your beauty sleep, you’ll find something... or someone... to nibble on. Slows blood loss during slumber. |
| Retention This inscription lets you retain some of your loot even after an untimely death in the dungeons. | |
| Hunger A desperate rune for desperate times - regain half your blood upon waking, but at the cost of nearly all your health (normally, sleep regenerates HP, not blood). | |
| Bounty An inscription favored by the opportunistic, offering a small chance to wake with a few extra coins tucked mysteriously under your pillow. | |
| Vigor A powerful rune that temporarily increases your maximum health upon awakening, perfect for facing the day’s more violent errands. | |
| Whisper This inscription invites strange dreams - on rare mornings, you awaken with one of your guests’ secrets echoing faintly in your mind. | |
| Echo A rare inscription that amplifies the power of the one placed before it, doubling its effect with uncanny precision. |
The choice of coffin design is mostly about style - but not only style. You start the game with a simple wooden coffin, and new designs can be purchased from the Vampiric Council to boost your reputation among their ranks. Owning multiple coffins increases both your standing and the perks that come with it.
Coffins themselves can’t be upgraded, except for the number of inscription slots they have. You begin with one slot and can unlock up to four, allowing you to create powerful combinations of passive effects. Beyond that, coffins are purely visual - a way to express your taste in eternal rest.
You can swap between owned coffins at any time. Below are the designs currently available, each more expensive than the last and offering a higher reputation bonus with the Vampiric Council.
Simple. Wooden. Squeaky. But it gets the job done - if the job is restoring a bloodthirsty monster to full strength so they can resume terrorizing the innocent.
Solid and reliable. Lifting the lid from the inside, however, requires serious upper-body strength - which is why some vampires just wait a few centuries for someone to open it, pretending they’ve been asleep the whole time.
Because your love for steampunk doesn’t stop after death. Till rust do us part.
Low self-esteem and a constant need for validation? Look no further - make your neighbor vampires jealous with your new royal bed. Who needs a king mattress when you are the king?
Drips saltwater and whispers in ancient tongues. Smells faintly of calamari. Rich in Omega-3's.
Never got to see the pyramids? Bring them to your crib instead - sorry, crypt.
If you like waking up in glitter, this beauty is for you. Sparkle-sparkle, slay forever.
Alright, let's face it. Nobody is getting any sleep near this thing - and especially inside.
That's it for now! Development is rolling along smoothly, the hotel’s looking spookier than ever. We can’t wait to share more in upcoming updates. A big thank you for your undying love and patience as we're trying to make this game bloody awesome.
So, what will be your coffin of choice?
