Hello everyone! We are officially one update closer to the full release of BlockRunner : The BlockSide and moving out of Steam Early Access! This update is all about making the game feel more polished, fixing old bugs, and improving the overall experience for you.

I also have some exciting news

I’ve started working on the idea for my next game! I’m not ready to show it just yet, but I will be revealing it sometime next year. For now, here is what’s new in this version: Gameplay & Upgrades Added: A damage cooldown so you don’t take damage too fast after getting hit.

Added

An Auto-Gun upgrade you can buy to shoot by holding the button.

Added

More coin rewards for beating levels and bosses.

Added

A Stats button that appears after you beat all 30 levels.

Removed

The last 5 levels (the game is now 30 levels total).

Fixed

The Spiker boss now attacks correctly.

Fixed

The Narcall boss now takes damage when you hit him with blocks.

Visuals & Menus Added

A warning screen for flashing lights.

Added

Drop shadows for the player and certain blocks.

Added

A "pencil" button to change player colors quickly.

Added

A control guide on the pause screen.

Changed

The pause menu no longer shows the game in the background.

The buy menu now shows a clear prompt with the name, cost, and progress.

Buttons are now colored instead of just black.

The Main Menu has new art and the end-game menu is more responsive.

Toggling Fullscreen and Music is now done with icons (the Settings menu was Removed).

Game variables now reset properly when you restart or go to the menu.

Particles are now destroyed correctly to prevent lag or crashes.

The save and load system is now much faster.

Menus are now mouse-only to work better (Controller still works for gameplay).

The debug menu is no longer accessible to players.
