Hi everyone!

Based on your feedback, I’ve made a major round of improvements to the Bitter Harvest demo focused on clarity, stability, and overall quality of life.

Here’s what’s new:

Crafting Improvements

The crafting menu is now clearer and easier to use.

  • Ingredient icons are larger and easier to read.

  • Hovering over ingredients now shows their name.

  • Missing ingredients are still marked, but no longer overly dark or difficult to see.

Save & Stability Fixes

Several important issues have been resolved to improve reliability.

  • Older saves broken by a previous update will now load correctly.

  • Fixed an issue where the game could get stuck on the menu during startup.

Fishing Mini-Game Feedback

Fishing now provides clearer and more satisfying feedback.

  • Catch text appears above the player with a bounce animation.

  • Successful catches display: +1 [Fish Name]

  • Failed attempts clearly show when a fish gets away.

Controls & Hotbar Updates

Hotbar usage is now fully customizable.

  • Hotbar use can be rebound in the Controls menu.

  • The hotbar label updates to reflect your chosen key or button.

  • The system now correctly uses your selected binding instead of being locked to R.

Hotbar Item Management

Managing hotbar items is more reliable and intuitive.

  • Using the last copy of an item now properly clears the hotbar slot.

  • Added a new “Unassign from Hotbar” option in the inventory menu.

  • This option is disabled when the item is not assigned.

  • Assign-to-hotbar options continue to function as expected.

HUD Update

  • Current gold now appears beneath the day/time display in the top-right corner.

Audio Adjustment

  • Overall game audio output has been reduced by 25%.

  • 100% volume in settings now equals 75% of the previous maximum to prevent excessive loudness.

Thank you for continuing to test the demo and share your thoughts. These changes directly reflect what you’ve been asking for.
