Repeated intro
Hello, fans of Birth ME Code! Today I bring to you a preview of the next patch that I've been working on. The second of three patches will be coming in the next months and I can't wait to finish working on it so that you can experience the game in an even better way than before.
What changed
- Gameplay
- UI and audio
The new inventory screen
Down below you can see a preview of the new inventory screen, which will actually allow you to combine items, instead of having the game do it for you automatically!
Pretty cool, isn't it? The entire user interface during Deduction Rooms has been updated in general. No longer will the UI get in the way; you'll have a full view of the rooms you explore with nigh-seamless transitions. I'd love to show other things like the flowchart as well. Actually, why not? Why shouldn't we have it? Here, have a look at the new flowchart!
The new flowchart
As you can see, you can now zoom in and zoom out. But that's not all, even the UI when you select a segment has been revamped. It looks pretty bare, doesn't it? But when you select a segment, it all closes in from the sides! (Some of this is still pending, but the general idea is there.)
As you can also see, there will be a tutorial in the game. I still need to make it (none of it is ready!) and it will hopefully really help people get settled in after they reach their first ending. It'll explain how the flowchart works and you can review the tutorial anytime. No more awkward confusion, or mistakenly restarting the game from scratch every attempt only to get into the same bad ending as before. Seamless, enjoyable experience only.
New miscellaneous things
And finally, let's have one more look at an element; the Extras menu. I'd like to show the save files too, but they're largely the same (even if there are three global save files now!). For the Extras, I'm going to show the Lexicon list; currently it looks bare because I'm on a brand new global save file, but this is the look it'll have now, which is much cleaner than the old one.
Like I previously said, the patch will go live sometime during the next months. It has been a ton of work and a lot still remains in front of me. While I did remake the framework, I now have to go over every single segment of the game and extensively test to ensure there are no bugs (hopefully!). That's a process that will take me several weeks.
