Bigfoot vs Scots changes
Happy Hogmanay and Best Wishes for 2025!
As we usher in the New Year, I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to everyone who supported Bigfoot vs Scots by purchasing the game. Your enthusiasm means the world to me, and I truly hope you enjoy playing it as much as I’ve enjoyed creating it.
Reflecting on 2024
This past year has been a challenging yet rewarding journey. Releasing Bigfoot vs Scots into Early Access marked a significant milestone for me as a solo developer. Amidst the whirlwind of moving countries three times, I’ve finally settled in Scotland, and it feels incredible to call Dundee home. Haggis Goes Wild Studios has firmly planted its roots here, and I feel incredibly fortunate to be part of Dundee’s vibrant and supportive game development community.
Dundee’s legacy as the birthplace of iconic games like Lemmings, Grand Theft Auto, APB, and Pine Hearts is a testament to the city’s talent and innovation. The positivity and camaraderie in this industry hub have been unlike anything I’ve experienced. Over the past six months, attending conferences, talks, and meetings has been instrumental in my growth as a developer—a title that still feels surreal, even after five years of hard work.
Post-Launch Updates and Progress
Following the launch of Bigfoot vs Scots, I took a much-needed break to rest and reflect. This downtime allowed me to evaluate my processes and refine my approach for future updates. Since then, I’ve returned to development with renewed focus.
Recently, I spent a productive day at CoStar Labs at Abertay University recording motion capture for the game. This experience was invaluable, saving me weeks—if not months—of animation work. I’m excited to incorporate these polished animations into the game in upcoming updates.
Another major focus has been the development of The Wee Rab storyline and questline. After weeks of writing, coding, testing, and asset creation, it’s nearly complete and starting to take shape. I look forward to sharing it with players in the New Year.
The 2025 New Year Patch
Initially, I planned to release a Christmas update, but I decided to consolidate the content into a single, comprehensive New Year Patch. This update will include new questlines, additional content, and fixes for bugs identified at launch, ensuring a richer experience for players. Expect this patch to drop in early January.
Looking Ahead to 2025
Creating new content and questlines is one of the most rewarding aspects of development, but it’s also a time-intensive process—especially as a solo developer. This year, I hope to bring in additional help, offering opportunities for newcomers in the industry to gain valuable experience. While resources are limited at this time, I’m optimistic about growing the team and continuing to expand Bigfoot vs Scots with frequent updates and engaging new content.
In the coming weeks, I’ll share an updated roadmap for 2025, outlining plans for future updates and milestones. I’m excited to keep building on what we’ve achieved and to deliver more memorable experiences for players.
Thank you again for your support and encouragement throughout this journey. I hope you had a wonderful holiday season and wish you an incredible 2025.
Warm regards, Haggis Goes Wild Studios
