Behold the Horde changes
Hi,
This is the first major update since the launch of Behold the Horde, and it represents an important evolution of the gameplay experience.
After several weeks analyzing feedback and experimenting with new ideas, I decided to redesign the core of the game to make it more intense, dynamic and strategic.
Main Features
New Time-Based System
The game no longer revolves around waves.
Everything now revolves around time.
Defeating enemies and completing challenges will extend your run. When the timer reaches zero… it’s game over.
This change makes every second matter and adds an extra layer of tension and strategic decision-making.
New Zone-Based Map
The previous world system has been replaced with a single map divided into zones.
Each zone has its own enemy generation rules, adding variety and forcing constant adaptation.
When you enter a zone, it will temporarily lock. To move forward, you must complete its challenges.
Improved Feedback
Absorbing experience now displays floating text indicating its value.
Camera effects have been added when shooting.
The user interface has been completely redesigned to be cleaner and clearer.
Enemy health bars now appear below them, improving combat readability.
Balance & System Adjustments
Enemies now scale based on the player’s stats, improving overall balance.
Upgrades are now granted instantly upon leveling up.
The ranking score formula has been revised to make it fairer and more competitive.
Important Notes
The current map is not final and will continue to evolve.
The ranking has been reset due to system changes.
There are still mechanics to be added, as well as further visual and audio feedback improvements planned.
The game is getting closer to its final version.
If everything goes as planned, version 1.0 will arrive earlier than expected.
Thank you all for your support.
Best regards.
