Becoming Captain is now Live!
After 6-7 years of work, we're thrilled to finally release our Roguelike Deckbuilder Becoming Captain! We took the time to listen to those who tested the game during the Next Fest and upgraded many things regarding balancing, UI and UX. While there are still things we’d love to polish, we didn’t want to delay the adventure any longer.
Becoming Captain is coming out THIS FRIDAY!
On day one, you’ll get the complete core experience. While we already have plans for future content, we believe what’s launching is solid and fun enough to stand as a full release.And if you enjoy the game… this is only the beginning. We’re 100% committed to keep updating Becoming Captain by fixing issues, tweaking balance, and adding more content over time. Bellow you will see every changes since NextFest!

Major Additions & Improvements
Added Steam Achievements
Added boss fight music for all boss battles
Added music to the Game Over screen
Added a proper transition for player death
Created numerous new encounters
Created 6 new events
Gameplay Changes & Balancing
Venomous Strike now costs 1 energy
Lucky Strike now costs 3 energy
Buffed the Electrify card's effect
Changed the Stun mechanics
Changed the DMG & energy cost of the Raygun action card
Raised the cost of several perks
Added a new perk to the Void Eel to make the fight more difficult and complex
Bug Fixes
Fixed the In-game Options Menu
Fixed a bug with the Void Eel
Fixed a non-destroy issue with AI cards (prevented cards from stacking on top of each other)
Fixed a bug that made the Charge effect of AI not work properly
Fixed the Energized status effect
Fixed a bug where poison would reset to 0 on death and "heal" a character
Fixed HP not properly setting to 0 on death
Fixed a glitch with the Poison Bar UI
Fixed the position of the Hemorrhage status effect icon
Fixed a bug with the Turtle Shell perk
Fixed a bug that kept the Eel's Maelstrom active after it died
Fixed the Crossbow attack stats not displaying properly
Fixed the Scared perk description
Fixed the Shop button color
Fixed the Draw button color
Fixed a minor UI issue
